• Princeville Botanical Gardens - Begin the tour by exploring the upper terraces and the uses of the plants living in Waimea Valley. Find exotic flowers, rare medicinals, happy honey hives and t the bottom of the valley, small cacao grove thrives. Here, taste some raw chocolate nibs and learn about how chocolate is grown and harvested. When you leave the Valley, head to our outdoor chocolate tasting area, where you’ll learn about modern and historical chocolate processing methods. You’ll sample at least 5 different single-origin chocolates from around the world. After relaxing in the shade and enjoying the chocolate, back on your feet to explore our Anini Creek valley, another wonderland of rare plants, stunning topography, and fascinating sustainable cultivation techniques.

This engaging 3-hour walking tour takes you through the nine acres of Princeville Botanical Gardens and features a 50-minute gourmet chocolate tasting. Participants will have the opportunity to sample chocolate from various parts of the world, both north and south of the equator. The tour includes a visit to the sacred cacao grove, where you will learn about the history of cacao and the chocolate-making process while enjoying our own delectable chocolate.

Knowledgeable guides will share captivating stories about the gardens’ development and provide a wealth of intriguing information about the plants, chocolate, and the Hawaiian islands. Guests will also enjoy tasting seasonal fruit samples, our garden’s tropical honey, and a selection of chocolates to maintain energy levels while exploring the valleys.
