• Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine - Known as the Ice River Shrine, located in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture, this renowned shrine is a popular destination for weddings in the Kanto region. It is celebrated for its summer wind chime festival and its thousand torii gates. The shrine also served as the inspiration for the “Mikage Shrine” in the anime series “Genki Shoujo Enmusubi-sama.” The main deities, a married couple, represent a harmonious marriage, and visitors can seek marriage omamori. From July to September, the shrine is adorned with thousands of wind chimes, creating a magical and romantic ambiance. The “Hina Nagashi” ceremony held here is believed to ward off misfortune and bring prosperity. Nearby, the historic “Kurazukuri Old Street” offers a glimpse into Edo-period Japan. • Tone River - The 38th Tone River Grand Fireworks Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the picturesque Tone River riverbed in Sakai Town, Ibaraki Prefecture. This eagerly awaited event will feature around 30,000 spectacular fireworks, promising a magnificent display.

A major highlight of this year’s festival is the unique collaboration of Japan’s top four fireworks manufacturers—Yamazaki Fireworks Mfg. Co., Nomura Fireworks Co., Ltd., Beniya Aoki Fireworks, and Marutamaya Fireworks Co., Ltd. They will present an immersive audiovisual show, with fireworks synchronized to music, stunning rapid-fire sequences, and grand large-scale shell bursts. This assembly of expert pyrotechnicians will demonstrate the height of firework artistry, ensuring an extraordinary and inspiring experience for all visitors.
