Akagera National Park - Arrive at Akagera by 12:30 PM and proceed to either Akagera Game Lodge or Ruzizi Tented Lodge for lunch and check-in. Afterward, travel through the park to Lake Ihema, the largest lake in the park and the second largest in Rwanda. Delight in a one-hour boat ride, taking in the natural beauty of the forest.

Full-Day Akagera Game Drive, Return to Kigali

Akagera National Park - Start your day with an early breakfast to be ready for a 7:30 AM pick-up by our guide. Spend the entire day on a game drive in Akagera National Park, home to a variety of wildlife including buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas, and more. Recently, black rhinos and lions have been reintroduced after being extinct in the park. However, sightings are not guaranteed due to their limited numbers and the elusive nature of the black rhino. Enjoy observing the natural habitats of various animals and birds, as well as the scenic views of the lakes and landscape.

Leave Kigali by 08h30 for Akagera National Park. With our local & friendly tour guide, the transport is assured with a choice 4x4 car with WIFI onboard to keep you connected with your loved ones & the world (Some spots in the park do not have connectivity). Head to Akagera Game Lodge for lunch and check-in, drive through the park to Ihema lake, the largest lake in the park and the 2nd largest in Rwanda. Enjoy the one-hour boat ride exploring the nature in the forest, hippos & crocodiles in the lake.
On the 2nd day, spend the entire day game-driving, depart to Kigali late afternoon. Akagera has a diversity of wildlife: buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas & many others. After a long time being extinct, the black rhinos and lions have been restocked. Their sighting is always not guaranteed due to their small number & the hiding character of the black rhino. Enjoy the game drive viewing the natural habitat of different animals, birds, view different lakes and landscape.
