Karatay Han - After collecting guests from their hotel or Cappadocia airport, the journey to Mesopotamia begins along the historic ‘Silk Road.’ Approximately 90 minutes later, a visit to the Karatay Han Caravanserai, a significant structure from the Seljuk Turks civilization, is scheduled. This 13th-century caravanserai was in use until the 1970s.
Pinarbasi - A stop at Pinarbasi Village for lunch is planned, located in the Taurus Mountains, providing a chance to experience the rural Turkish countryside and lifestyle.
Kahramanmaras - En route to Mesopotamia, a stop in Kahramanmaraş province offers a unique experience of tasting Turkey’s finest handmade ice cream, crafted from goat milk.
Adiyaman - Adıyaman, situated near Nemrut Mountain, is the ideal place to stay in the area. Guests will check into a hotel and spend the night in Adıyaman. During the summer, with extended daylight, a visit to Nemrut Mountain to witness the sunset from its peak is planned before returning to the hotel for the night.
Sunrise at Mount Nemrut, Arsemia, Septimus Severus Bridge, Karakus, Sanlıurfa
Mount Nemrut - An early morning departure from the hotel leads to an unforgettable trip to Mount Nemrut. Upon arrival, a brief 20-minute walk to the summit is required. At the top, the stunning sunrise can be observed among the massive statues and heads of ancient kings and gods. Mount Nemrut, recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural and Historical Heritage site since 2015, offers one of the world’s most breathtaking views.
Arsemia Antik Kenti - Explore the summer capital of the Commagene Kingdom, where significant religious ceremonies and celebrations took place. This historic site features the renowned relief stele depicting the ‘Handshake of Antiochos and Heracles.’
Cendere Bridge - Also known as the ‘Septimius Severus Bridge,’ this bridge was built by Roman Emperor Lucius Septimius Severus between A.D. 193 and 211, crossing the Cendere Stream.
Karakus Tumulusu - This monumental tomb, where Royal Family members were interred, is often called the ‘Pyramid of Anatolia and Mesopotamia.’
Urfa - Gobeklitepe - Harran - Zeugma Mosaic Museum and return to Cappadocia
Sanliurfa - A visit to Abraham’s Cave and the surrounding Pools of Holy Carp is planned. Guests can also explore the oriental covered bazaar and Gümrükhan.
Potbelly Hill - Known as the first temple in human history! Until the 2008 excavations, historians and archaeologists had differing views. It was discovered that temples were constructed first, followed by settlements around them. The earliest monuments date back to 9600 B.C., nearly 11,600 years ago.
Harran - This ancient city, established around 3000 B.C., is where the Sun, Moon, and Stars were first worshipped as sacred. Mentioned in the Torah (Old Testament) as founded by the grandson of the prophet Noah, it is also home to the first university and professional astrological studies. The clay houses in Harran were designed to provide cool shelter in the region’s hot climate.
Zeugma Mosaic Museum - Named after the ancient city of Zeugma, one of the four largest cities of the ancient Commagene Kingdom, this museum is one of the largest mosaic museums globally, both in building size and mosaic area. The renowned ‘Mosaic of the Gypsy Girl’ is displayed here!
Visitors can view examples of late antique churches, early Syriac and Christian iconography, as well as sculptures, columns, and fountains from the Roman era.
Cappadocia - At the end of the day, around 21:30–22:00, guests will return to Cappadocia. They can be dropped off at their hotel in Cappadocia or at Kayseri Airport. If they prefer not to return to Cappadocia and wish to save time, assistance can be provided to arrange a flight to Istanbul, Ephesus, or other destinations, with a drop-off at Gaziantep Airport as well!
