Charyn Canyon - The journey from Almaty to Charyn Canyon takes approximately 2.5 hours by private car. Often referred to as the Grand Canyon’s little brother, Charyn Canyon stretches about 150 km in length and reaches depths of up to 300 meters in certain areas. Visitors will explore the “Valley of Castles,” which is 2.5 km long and 20-80 meters deep. The canyon’s formation dates back around 25 million years. For hiking enthusiasts, there is an option to hike 2.5 km one way to the Charyn River, or alternatively, enjoy the breathtaking views from an open-roof car. The canyon and river offer stunning, picturesque scenery.

Lake Kaindy - Following the visit to Charyn Canyon, the next stop is Saty village for lunch at a local guest house or yurt. After lunch, it takes about 40 minutes to reach Lake Kaindy. The journey involves changing cars twice (using older vehicles), followed by a 15-minute walk to the lake. Visitors will have approximately one hour of free time at Lake Kaindy. Situated at an altitude of 2000 meters, Lake Kaindy is geologically young, having formed in 1911 after an earthquake-induced limestone landslide created a natural dam in the gorge, submerging spruce trees.

Kolsai Lake - After visiting Lake Kaindy, the trip continues to Kolsai Lake via Saty village using a private car. Kolsai Lakes are among the most beautiful locations in Kazakhstan, situated at altitudes of 1800, 2250, and 2700 meters above sea level.
