Discovery of Langkawi North - We had a great day thanks to Alif, who gave us a lot of information and explanations along the way. The mangroves are beautiful, and although the boat is fast, we were able to observe many animals (the eagles and monkeys in particular). We highly recommend this activity.

Beautiful Langkawi - A huge thank you to Azri who was a great tour guide and driver. He went out of his way to explain history and culture to us, and provided a safe and secure atmosphere for our family, especially our three year old son. The tour itself was beautiful - the waterfalls were stunning and the mangrove tour provided many memories, from the monkey feeding and bat cave exploration to a wonderful fresh fish lunch. The tour offered flexibility in location/itinerary and time spent at each place. As advertised, the mangrove and waterfall had extra fees that were not included in the tour price. The waterfall extra charge of 10 MYR per person was explicit, however, the price for the mangrove portion ranged from about 500-800 MYR. It was well worth the additional cost, but it would be helpful for future travelers for this cost to be more explicit in the description. All in all, a wonderful tour and driver that we would recommend to any traveler.

Langkawi tour during Ramadan - A well-rounded tour of Langkawi by car. Watching the sea and river eagles on the mangrove cruise was one of the many highlights. Spotting pink dolphins was very special. The Spectacled Langurs and the Long-tailed Macaques were very entertaining to watch. Gunung Raya was on the itinerary when I booked the tour, however, we did not get to go as our guide said the roads were not safe. Even with that bit of false advertising, we did enjoy the private tour very much.

Nice trip through the mangrove - It's a nice trip, in terms of "wildlife" not really spectacular but the eagles on and around the lake are impressive. Our guide was well informed and had lots of information

Nice visit to Langkawi - We arrived via a cruise ship. It’s a long walk off the pier and our driver, Asward, was unable to come into the port to pick us up so we had to walk another 5 minutes to meet him outside the port. After that, everything was great. We had a mangrove boat tour where we saw eagles and monkeys. We walked through a cave and visited a fish farm. We then went to Durian Falls. The hike up the hill was a bit tough in the heat and humidity, but the views were great. We ended the day at an artisan market. Asward is a nice young man who was eager to answer any questions we had and he’s a good driver.

The trip was awesome, but... - The trip was awesome, but be aware the cost is only for the driver and the car. All boat trips and waterfalls are extra and cost me quite a bit more than expected, but was well worth it. No water or coconut juice were provided I paid also for them. My driver was great and very accommodating.

A cautionary tale and untrustworthy behaviours - Kharl is elusive and doesn’t follow through properly when messaged our requests. Our lovely young driver Syed, didn’t even know him, as an intermediary hired him for our trip. He was on time as we needed an earlier start, due They didn’t tell him of inclusions, just a standard overpriced and shady mangrove tour company and ‘waterfalls’ (which are pretty dry this time of year), not Gunung Raya mountain as promised. We did go to the mountain on a very quiet drive, as the hotel at the top is closed and most people opt for the cable car at the other island. We saw dusky leaf langur, some birds etc, but it was cloudy, so the views were fleeting. The mangrove tour place EBAU PEK Enterprises 23 at the Tanjan Rhu beach is not recommended. They hadn’t been pre-booked, so weren’t there to meet us. Syed called them. I queried the price of 700 myr per person private as over 200 myr more than longer, or more ethical differentiated companies and so much more than shared outside or official Kilim Geopark Mangrove boat tours. Answer “not the same”. We had no other choice, as no one else open at the beach. Ebau PEK driver transferred us to the boat jetty on the Kilim river where other operators were and many speed boats. Feeding wild animals esp macaque monkeys isn’t a good practice and we didn’t. The bat cave was the best part on the river. We didn’t see mudskippers or many birds. The snorkelling around a coastal island was great and our 19 year old skipper took us round the other side to a tiny beach so I didn’t have to use a ladder. He was obliging. On return to the jetty our transfer driver didn’t arrive for 30 minutes. Most people come straight to the jetty for tours, so why this operator is outside, is odd. We found that the skipper had opened our gear bag to remove the identifying stickers from our shirts while we were snorkelling. WHY? Probably he was ordered to, so that we wouldn’t name them in a bad review. Other than the stickers, we had only a generic receipt with a Chinese name. We were very upset with this violation of our privacy and security. It nearly spoiled our experience of Langkawi, but the snorkelling, mountain and batik lady were excellent. Tread your own path.

Not a Tour - Just an Expensive Taxi ride - Not good start as our Driver picked us late - we later found out he had been watching football late the night before. He didn’t seem to know the itinerary and didn’t take us the the first place but straight to the the beach (2nd place on the itinerary) where we had to then book at 500-700 local currency for the Mangrove Tour - an unexpectedly high additional cost. Actual tour was great and after met up with our driver who whilst very pleasant didn’t really seem interested in Guiding us. He advised us not to go the one of the waterfalls as very little water and the 2nd waterfall had just a trickle . I wouldn’t advise this tour at all but simply get a taxi direct to the Mangrove Tour (which as I have said is great) as it will be much cheaper- will be asking Viator for some sort of refunds which I know won’t happen

Never again!! - Not recommended! The driver only drives you to a few spots where you still have to pay admission. It is neither informed about anything but what . Money thrown out. This is better if you book the tours directly with the respective tour provider. And the rides over Grab! Never again! And it said we are supplied with drinks in this private tour / a laugh number ! When we asked for the drinks, they said on the way back you'd get a bottle of water. Please think before you book this!!!

Big Scam. Waste of money. - This is basically a highly expensive full day cab service and nothing else. Most of the key attractions need to be paid out of your own pocket. You just get someone to drive you around (if you book a full day taxi service it will cost you one third the price). A big scam. Please avoid. I will be trying for a refund since I just felt badly looted by Viator.
