Keflavík International Airport - Enjoy a complimentary shuttle service from Keflavik International Airport or a hotel in Keflavik town to the CampEasy office, just a 5-minute drive from the airport.
From our office, we recommend your first stop be the Viking World Museum. Here, you can step back in time to the settlement era and view a life-size Viking ship. This ship, constructed in 2000, sailed to New York to “commemorate Leifur Eiríksson’s journey to the new world a thousand years earlier” – Viking World Museum. Please note, this is a suggestion and the admission fee is not included in the tour price. If you decide to visit, the museum tour will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, including travel time from our office.
Bridge Between Continents - The Bridge between two continents is a unique spot where you can “stand” above ground between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates.
Gunnuhver Hot Springs - Spend some time exploring this geothermal area, featuring steam vents, hot mud pools, and a stunning landscape shaped by the minerals in the ground. Enjoy the vibrant hues of steaming surfaces with the Reykjanes lighthouse in the background. This is a must-see location!
Kleifarvatn Lake - The largest lake on the Reykjanesbær peninsula, Kleifarvatn, is also one of Iceland’s deepest lakes, reaching nearly 100 meters in depth. The water is sourced from the porous lava ground surrounding it and is home to many fish, especially popular with anglers! The lake beautifully reflects Iceland’s natural beauty, with lava ground covered in ancient moss.
Golden Circle and its Wonders
Hótel Eldhestar - Rise and shine! Start the day early by making new friends with Icelandic horses at Eldhestar, near your campsite. The horse riding “TOUR 2A - The Heritage Tour” (at 9:00 AM) is perfect for all riders to get acquainted with these magnificent creatures while enjoying the countryside.
Kerid Crater - Next, visit the Kerid volcanic crater, located just a 20-minute drive from Eldhestar. The crater is approximately 3,000 years old and is covered with vibrant colors in the summer. It is a beautiful sight in winter, especially when its inner lake reflects the sunlight on frosty days. Note that there is a small admission fee to walk up to the crater lake, which is not included in the tour price.
Urridafoss Waterfall - Stop at Urriðafoss waterfall to experience the powerful Thjorsa river, Iceland’s longest river at 230 km.
If interested, consider visiting Friðheimar farm, renowned for its horse breeding, horse shows, and tomato farm run entirely on geothermal energy using biological pest controls. Friðheimar is open for visits and has a restaurant where you can taste their tomato specialties. Note that this is a suggestion, and the admission fee is not included in the tour price. If you choose to visit, it will take 1 hour, including travel time from Urriðafoss Waterfall.
Secret Lagoon - Gamla Laugin - Experience a geothermal bath at the beautiful and secluded Secret Lagoon at 2 PM. Built in 1891 near the geyser Litli Geysir, it provides warm waters and delights visitors with spouting activities every few minutes.
Gullfoss Waterfall - Begin exploring the Golden Circle route with a visit to the Gullfoss waterfall. This impressive 32-meter-high chute dramatically falls into a deep crevasse, covering the surroundings with water spray. Rainbows are often seen when the droplets catch the sunlight.
Geysir - Next, visit Geysir, where the geyser Strokkur shoots a warm water column up to 15 meters in the air. The geothermal area also features fumaroles, mud pots, and openings where boiling water emerges from the earth’s crust. Geysir is the second point on the famous Golden Circle route scheduled for your visit.
Borgarfjordur Fjord and Its Waterfalls
Thingvellir National Park - Thingvellir National Park is the third stop on the Golden Circle route. It is not only a geological marvel where Öxara waterfall and Silfra Fissure were formed by the continental drift but also an important historical and political site. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The visit is free, but a parking fee, not included in the tour price, is required.
The Cave Vidgelmir - At noon, explore the lava cave in the Borgarfjorður fjord. Vidgelmir cave is a 1,100-year-old lava formation located on a 200m2 lava field beneath Hallmundarhraun. Discover many lava stalactites and stalagmites, transporting you to the underworld’s secrets.

Djupalonssandur Beach - Djúpalónssandur is a black pebble beach where sailors were once selected. Men tested their strength by lifting large rocks (23 to 155 kg) and heavy driftwood logs, carrying or throwing them as far as possible. Today, the rocks and many logs remain on the shore, along with the remnants of a rusty shipwreck. The site is preserved to connect with history.
Vatnshellir Cave - At 2 PM, explore an 8,000-year-old lava tube located 32 meters underground! This fantastic lava formation features robust flows creating an antechamber accessible by spiral stairs. Equipped with a helmet and headlight, descend deep beneath the surface.
