Visitors will immerse themselves in the vibrant culture of Kenya’s 42 ethnic groups, showcased through traditional dances, music, songs, and folklore. A magnificent arena hosts acrobatic performances, while the Bomas Cultural dance show features traditional dancers. Spanning many acres, the site also boasts an impressive display of mud huts and traditional Kenyan homesteads, arranged in clusters by region. These homes include the first wife’s hut, second wife’s hut, granary, and areas for livestock, highlighting the diversity among the huts. Established in 1971 after Kenya’s independence in 1964, Bomas of Kenya is managed by the Kenyan Government to promote the country’s rich cultural heritage. Besides the main attractions, there is a large wooden play area for children, a quaint village of craft shops, and other attractions.
On weekdays, shows run from 2:30 PM to 4 PM. On weekends and public holidays, they are from 3:30 PM to 5:15 PM.
