- Tsavo National Park East - Begin the day with a pick-up from the airport or hotel, and travel to Tsavo East National Park, famous for its large elephant population and the legendary “man-eating” lions. - Tsavo National Park East - After an early breakfast, set off for a morning game drive in the reserve, heading towards the gate. The landscape is breathtaking, with sightings of animals such as gerenuk, fringe-eared oryx, and mating lions. The combination of red earth and blue sky is stunning, and the red-coated elephants are a sight to behold. The park is well-marked, and a laminated map can be borrowed from the park gate. Enjoy exploring along the Voi River and the area around the Galena Falls. A visit to the Voi Stockade to see the orphaned elephants return for milk and bedtime in the afternoon is a highlight. - Amboseli National Park - Depart for Amboseli via Kajindo in the morning after breakfast, driving south through Masai country to the plains below Mt. Kilimanjaro, where Amboseli is located. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route with the majestic backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Spectacular wildlife displays, including lions, elephants, leopards, and various plains game, make for postcard-perfect pictures. Amboseli National Park is renowned for its large elephant herds and views of the immense Mount Kilimanjaro across the border in Tanzania. Observation Hill offers panoramas of the peak and the park’s plains and swamps. The diverse wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and hundreds of bird species. - Amboseli National Park - Spend another day in this beautiful park. After breakfast, with a picnic lunch, embark on a full-day game drive in Amboseli. The park’s signature attraction is the sight of hundreds of big-tusked elephants set against Africa’s best views of Mt. Kilimanjaro at 5895m. Amboseli National Park is home to over 80 different wildlife species, including African buffaloes, impalas, lions, zebras, and wildebeests. It is also a significant birding area, hosting over 400 bird species, including the common redshank, Dickinson’s kestrel, Eurasian thick-knee, Greater flamingo, Hartlaub’s bustard, Lesser flamingo, Long-toed lapwing, Pangani longclaw, Rufous chatterer, Rufous-bellied heron, Spike-heeled lark, Steel-blue whydah, Taveta golden weaver, Von der Decken’s hornbill, Yellow-necked spurfowl, and many more. The park’s main feature is a large, shallow lake supporting abundant birdlife, including large flocks of pelicans and variable flocks of flamingos. The lake is regaining its fame for flamingos, as conditions become favorable, and many have returned from Rift Valley lakes. Accommodation: Lake Nakuru Lodge.
- Maasai Mara National Reserve - Transfer to Maasai Mara via Narok town to Maasai Mara National Reserve, with lunch en route. Upon arrival, head to the reserve for an afternoon game drive. The Maasai Mara is world-famous for hosting the epic Great Migration, welcoming 1.5 million wildebeests onto its sprawling savannahs each July through October. The Maasai Mara National Reserve and conservancies are teeming with life and offer safari travelers a wide variety of activities. Whether opting for a high-flying hot-air balloon adventure at sunrise (at an extra cost) or a 4×4 safari, unforgettable experiences and lifelong memories are guaranteed. Accommodation: AA Lodge Mara.
- Maasai Mara National Reserve - After breakfast, set out with a picnic lunch for a full-day game drive in the reserve, searching for the Big Five and other numerous plains animals. It represents the northernmost portion of the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. The Sand River, Talek River, and the Mara River are the primary rivers draining the reserve. The park is divided into two main areas: the inner portion, featuring pristine wilderness, and the outer portion, allowing for the grazing of Masai cattle. The Maasai Mara is renowned for its abundance and variety of larger plains species and predator species. It is considered the only place left in Kenya that resembles the wildlife population of the past. Although abundant, wildlife is declining, and the preserve is crucial for protection.
