Amboseli Eco-system - After lunch, begin the drive to Amboseli. Due to the late arrival, there will be no game drive on this day. The game drive will take place early the next day. Amboseli is renowned for its scenery, with snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop and open plains.
No game drive due to late arrival.
Check in at the camp in Amboseli, have lunch, and take a short rest.
Amboseli Full Day Game Drives
Amboseli National Park - An early morning game drive in Amboseli is recommended when Mt. Kilimanjaro often emerges from its cloud cover. The game drive proceeds to Lake Amboseli, a wide salt pan with permanent swamps. This area is rich in wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, buffalos, Burchell’s zebras, elands, Masai giraffes, and various antelope species such as the common waterbuck, klipspringer, Grant’s gazelle, impala, and topi. The park also features a dry Pleistocene lake basin that becomes Lake Amboseli after the rains. Waters from Mt. Kilimanjaro flow under lava and surface in Amboseli, creating a green belt of swampland amidst dusty plains. Although Amboseli lacks the abundance of animal species found in the Mara, the landscape offers limited cover, increasing the chances of spotting larger predators.
Observation Hill - This beautiful overlook of Amboseli Park allows visitors to watch elephants play in the marsh below. From the summit of Observation Hill, a pyramid-shaped volcanic hill, admire views of the plains and swamps against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro. It is one of the best places to see elephants, attracting many tourists, both local and international. In addition to large mammals gathering here to drink, flocks of pink flamingos can also be seen. Bring binoculars and a powerful lens for excellent photos.
Amboseli to Nairobi
Amboseli National Park - Enjoy early morning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. After an early morning game drive, return to the camp for breakfast.
