NAIROBI TO MAASAI MARA
Maasai Mara National Reserve - Guests will be collected between 7:00 and 7:30 am from their hotel in Nairobi city center, or by 8:30 am from their hotel in Westlands, to begin the journey to Masai Mara. The drive includes a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, offering a stunning view of the rift valley floor. Visitors will see the semi-active Mt Longonot and two dormant volcanic mountains, Mt. Suswa and Mt. Margaret, for 10 to 15 minutes. The journey continues to Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. After checking in at the camp or lodge and resting, guests will depart at 4:00 pm for a two-hour sunset game drive in the Mara Reserve, returning by 6:00 pm. The day concludes with a delicious buffet dinner and relaxation at the camp or lodge.
MAASAI MARA FULL DAY
Maasai Mara National Reserve - After an early breakfast at 6:30 am, guests will embark on a full-day game viewing adventure. This day is crucial as it involves searching for the Big Five and hoping to spot wildlife, particularly the elusive big cats. The itinerary includes a visit to the famous Mara River, where the great migration occurs, with over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. A guided tour by rangers will showcase Nile crocodiles and hippo families, and a picnic lunch will be provided under a tree in the park, overlooking the vast landscapes. The Mara is renowned for the spectacular natural event of the great migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebra migrate from the Serengeti in search of water and pasture, followed by savanna predators like lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.
MAASAI MARA TO LAKE NAKURU
Lake Nakuru National Park - After breakfast at the camp or lodge, guests will check out by 8:00 am and drive to Nakuru. An optional visit to a Masai Village in Maasai Mara is available in the morning before departure, costing USD 20 per person (paid in cash at the village). This visit offers insight into the local tribe’s lifestyle and culture. Lunch will be provided at a traveler’s motel en route. Upon arrival in Nakuru, guests will check in at their hotel and relax, with options to swim in the pool or stroll around the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Buraha Hotel or Lake Nakuru.
LAKE NAKURU TO LAKE NAIVASHA
Lake Naivasha - After an early breakfast, guests will check out and depart by 7:00 am for a game drive at Lake Nakuru. This small park is home to magnificent, rare white rhinos, part of the Big Five, and possibly pink flamingos. The game drive lasts 3 to 4 hours. The ecosystem includes the lake, surrounded by wooded and bushy grasslands, supporting a wide ecological diversity, including flamingos and other water birds, and the Black and White Rhinoceros, the area’s major attractions. Lunch will be at a traveler’s motel in Naivasha. After lunch, guests will head to Lake Naivasha for a one-hour boat ride, enjoying bird watching, eagle feeding, and viewing pelicans and hippos. After the boat ride, guests will return to the dock. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Chambai Safari Hotel or Kongoni Lodge.
LAKE NAIVASHA TO AMBOSELI
Amboseli National Park - After an early breakfast, guests will check out by 7:00 am and proceed to Hell’s Gate National Park for a biking safari. A guided tour will showcase various animal species like zebras, buffalos, giraffes, and antelopes. Guests will also enjoy a guided walk in the gorge, exploring small depressions and caves. Hell’s Gate is unique for its biodiversity, including raptors, and offers activities like biking, rock climbing, and a natural spa known for its geothermal activity. Lunch will be at Naivasha Kifaru restaurant or Mai Mahiu hotel. The drive to Amboseli will begin afterward, arriving in the evening. Guests will check in to the lodge, swim, and relax, with the game drive scheduled for the next day. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Sentrim Amboseli Lodge or AA Lodge.
FULL DAY AMBOSELI
Amboseli National Park - An early morning game drive will be followed by breakfast at the lodge. The day will be spent in the park with a packed lunch, searching for popular residents like well-known predators and their counterparts, such as zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and hippos, with a view of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Guests will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Amboseli National Park is famous for its scenery, with snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro dominating the landscape and open plains. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at Observation Hill, with several bathroom breaks available during the game drives. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Sentrim Amboseli Lodge or AA Lodge.
AMBOSELI TO NAIROBI
Nairobi - The last day includes an early morning game drive, offering a high chance of seeing predators, strictly from 6:00 am to 8:00 am. Afterward, guests will return to the hotel for breakfast, check out with their luggage, and begin the drive to Nairobi. Upon arrival, guests will be dropped off at their hotel or the airport, marking the end of the tour.
