Great experience - Where do I even start? James is truly a wonderful human being. Throughout our safari, he consistently showed deep respect for nature — unlike many other vehicles we saw chasing animals or blocking their paths for photos. James was mindful, ethical, and incredibly knowledgeable. He patiently answered every one of our (many!) questions with a smile and made the experience so enriching for me and my sister. The accommodation was perfect and the food was amazing — with good vegetarian options. Lunch boxes during safari can be on the lighter side, especially for vegetarians (not much protein), but the team was very kind and always willing to pack a little extra if needed. A few things to note: the price shown online doesn’t include everything. Expect to pay around $350 per person for safari-related fees, $150 for optional activities, and roughly $200 in tips (tipping is a standard practice in Kenya). Also, if you can, consider upgrading your vehicle for $120 — ours worked fine but might be tough if you have back issues. And lastly, James went above and beyond — on our final day, during a protest, he personally helped us find a safe hotel, dropped us off, and waited until we checked in. That speaks volumes about the kind of person he is. The trip was absolutely worth it — unforgettable and full of heart.

Importance of An Experienced Guide - The importance of an experienced guide cannot be overemphasized. My wife and I were fortunate to have had Richard as our guide, who is very experienced, and works very hard.

Explorers Wild Adventures- made our visit Amazing and made sure our family had a great experience. Thank you. Zachary! - Our family of 4 had an amazing time on our first African Safari with Explorer Wild Adventures guided by Zachary. We were very well accommodated by the company with activities throughout the 6 day safari in Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Naivasha, and Amboseli Ntnl Park. We were able to see every single animal in the areas except for the leopard which is notoriously difficult to spot. But Zachary is clearly very skilled and was highly enthusiastic about teaching us about the animals and African culture. He was very flexible with us and is very knowledgeable about the parks. We highly recommend Zachary to people who are also enthusiastic about the safari. The housing situations were good with a large tent in Masai Mara, a resort room in Lake Nakuru, and a large cabin/tent in Amboseli. The food was quite decent in the camps and hygiene was always top notch in the camps. Each tent/cabin had its own toilet, shower w/ hot water, sink, beds, mosquito canopies. Be prepared for a VERY bumpy ride as roads in the parks and the more rural areas are not well kept. However, the drive overall was quite fun. Thank you so much for making our safari trip so special Explorer Wild Adventures and Zachary!!

Amazing Kenya - i went on this trip with my sister. it's my 2nd safari, my sister's first. we were soooooo happy we saw all the Big 5 beauties - 4 at Maasai Mara, and 1 at Lake Nakuru. Our guide, George was sooooo informative and obliging. the accomodation, although basic, was acceptable. and the vegetarian options, although a few, were enough. no complaints whatsoever. the Kenyan people we met - those working at the camp, hotels, eateries etc were all soooo lovely, friendly and warm. i felt safe in kenya and hope to return!

A trip to remember - First Safari - Pickup from hotel was smooth and on time, communication via WhatsApp. George the driver and guide with more than 20 years experience really made the trip memorable. He knew where to spot wildlife before other vehicles did. The first full day in the Mara, 4 of the Big 5 were seen due to his expertise. Glad I booked the jeep, very roomy and the best option for the rugged terrain. All lodges visited were great, food was buffet style., accommodations comfortable. Thanks again George.

Safari adventure Kenya - Explorers wild adventures it’s a long read but hopefully informative and worth the reed - Got picked up from our hotel early in the morning about 6.50am (after breakfast ) to join some others we had the budget holiday which came with a Toyota Hi ace which l thought was not going to be able to to do the things the big jeeps can do OMG l was so wrong and our driver was very good It did all the same and more 😊as the big vehicles as it was lighter. We drove a long way to the first camp site which we were all very disappointed with This was called MITI MINGI camp we arrived about 2pm and at first it seemed ok got to the built hut/tent on a concrete slab ( which turns out to not be so water proof as our bag got wet and some other stuff)😡 we all ( group)wanted to take a show after a long day But there was no hot water so no one had a shower that day, the bed wasn’t good at all you sank in the middle and felt like you was on the wooden boards, dinner was not good and it was badly organised, no heating under the bain Marie’s so food was quite cold and not much food or a selection for the amount of people. There is a small bar that did have beer and wine (wine is expensive) beer reasonably priced & was cold so that was good, all lights go out at 10pm and the only place to get internet was in the eating& bar area and also stoped at 10 pm so that’s not good Early morning for breakfast to start the Safari, the breakfast was not good at all, also it was just dry bread some fried potatoes a sausage not much l could eat l did ask if any kind of eggs omelet fried l could have and they did do a plane omelet for me so that was good, thankfully not that many asked for one 🤣 or it would have been a disaster. Only instant coffee in a jar and hot water in a flask and tea bags no milk 😡 the Safari was very good got to see some amazing animals, including lions (in the whole 5 days trip we got to see the big five)😲😊 and the driver was brilliant We unfortunately we were at this camp for 2 nights unfortunately never got to shower as the water (shower) was so cold and just dripped out, no one did they said after the 1st night it will be ok as there was a problem but it never was ok and dinner was not good and if you didn’t get in quick to get the food it will be cold and possibly mostly gone 😡 Glad to say the next place to stay was a hotel BURAHA ZENONI HOTEL probably a 2 star/3 at best but it did offer a good room and hot showers. We had dinner which was not bad at all, the breakfast was very good, all hot and a decent selection of food along with yoghurts fruit and hot drinks and was given a large bedroom well at first they were only going to give 2 single rooms as we are 2 men travelling together we had already asked before the trip that we want 1 room after some arrangements they did give us the big room which had one double bed and two singles the room was very clean and plenty of space to put all your things and the showers as it had 2 had good pressure and hot 😊 the mattress was also fairly comfortable so felt ready to start the next early drive around 6.45 . There was a couple who were staying in another hotel more expensive which always got picked up secondly. So ment the budget people had to get up much earlier so to pick them up at an ok time 🤔which was annoying. One day was a Safari and the picnic lunch well the food was disgusting. The sandwich was just a 2 piece of bread with a small piece of lettuce and a tiny bit of cucumber a chicken breast that was SO DRY. And tough see pic .no one could eat it l think l only eat an apple and drank a small apple juice we gave the food back to the driver to give to some of the poor people The 3rd accommodation NYATI camp was Very good for a camp/ tent/ hut not sure how to describe it, you’ll have to see the pictures was SO MUCH BETTER than the first place we got greeted by a member of staff and a welcoming cold drink and a hot towel ( nice touch) and our bag was carried to our accommodation as it was a Gravel path Way l did say l would carry it but he insisted. This place is so much better than the first place the accommodation was completely watertight and had pretty comfortable beds and more room showers that worked well , and hot water separate shower, sink, and toilet . The shower had place to put your towels and sink had a shelf to put your toothbrush. And lots of room, flaps to put down on the windows and it the accommodation was raised with a good size front balcony, only had 1 chair 🤔 but honestly so surprised and happy after being in the first camp it also had Internet in the accommodation which was very good But all lights and electricity got turned off at 10 pm and internet it gave really good food and all heated properly with the paraffin heaters underneath the Bain Marie and had hot and cold milk and Weetabix coffee and tea and juice so we all was very happy unfortunately the picnic food again was not so good the sandwich again only had a few pieces of lettuce and two cucumber pieces a-bit better 🤣 the chicken was better and was not to over cooked so not so dry so most people eat it, a drink and a dry orange to eat, we had a couple that was with us for the five days which was paying a more premium price you could see the difference in the food, on the 2 picnics ( l don’t think they should mix 2 different levels of price as they firstly always got picked up last so they had a better sleep which ment we got up earlier and there food was so much better) had it all been in the one place people would have got longer in bed 🤔 But the safari Drive was all very good thanks to the skill of the driver and his of road driving which he did very well got to see so many at animals The main roads out of the safari (single roads heavy with lorries and vehicles that’s a different story if your are nervous driver you may want to close your eyes or go to sleep if you can as there is a LOT of of over taking that had to be done, but he did take precautions and didn’t over take on bends extra Over all we all had a amazing time but 5 days was more than enough and was glad to get back to Nairobi and stay in a hotel 🤣 We gave a decent tip to the driver as he was brilliant driver see all pics

Acceptable - 6 day trip to Maasai, Naivasha and Amboseli was well organized and you will see all the animals. Guides are professionals. Biggest mistake I made was that I did not know beforehand the difference between safari van and safari cruiser. Avoid the van, its a old dangerous rusty dusty limited view piece of crap. You need the LandCruiser for Kenyan roads. Accomodations were like advertized indeed bare minimum.
