Journey to Maasai Mara

Maasai Mara National Reserve - For guests arriving by flight on the morning of Day 1, pick-up will be at 6 am from the airport to the departure point in Nairobi city. Guests will be collected at 8 am by our professional guide/driver to begin the journey to Maasai Mara. Along the way, there will be a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to observe the effects of ancient volcanic activities. The safari will continue, arriving at Maasai Mara in time for lunch and check-in at the accommodation. After some rest, a game drive will commence at 4:00 pm, returning by 6:00 pm. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Miti Mingi Tourist Camp or Rhino Camp. NOTE: Accommodation consists of large tents equipped with a toilet, bathroom, bed linen, and nets. Hot water and electricity are available from 6-10 pm.

Full Day Game Drive at Mara River

Maasai Mara National Reserve - Spend the entire day exploring Maasai Mara in search of the Big Five. With some luck, guests may spot the Big Five and witness the wildebeest migration. Picnic lunches will be enjoyed in the Reserve under the shade of croton trees while taking in the beauty of the Mara. The banks of the Mara River are home to many resident hippos and crocodiles.

Maasai Mara to Nairobi

Maasai Mara National Reserve - After an early breakfast, guests will check out. A simple complimentary lunch will be provided at the Travellers Motel on the return journey to Nairobi. There is an option to visit a nearby Maasai village for a cultural tour at USD 20 per person. This visit offers a chance to explore the traditional village of the Maasai tribe, who are eager to share their culture, traditions, and lifestyle, including how they coexist with wildlife. For the Maasai, cows represent wealth. They have long practiced a “green” approach to land management. Although lion-hunting was once a traditional rite of passage for young Maasai men, it is no longer practiced. In the past, young warriors (moran) proved themselves by ritually killing a lion, either alone or in a group, using only iron spears. The Maasai are renowned for their jumping abilities. Upon arrival in Nairobi, guests will be dropped off at the city center or their hotel within the city center.
