Not biodiverse, but biodense! - Our tour guide was Katie, and she was absolutely lovely. She has so much enthusiasm for the rainforest, and we learned a lot. Keep in mind that this rainforest is not biodiverse, but it is biodense! While you won’t see a variety of flora, it’s a nice, scenic walk through a rainforest that has recovered from the lumber industry. The trail through the rainforest is easy, with no steep inclines past the first small one at the start of the walk. We also saw a bear at a nearby river, though the foliage was pretty dense. This was a surprise, and not something guaranteed for this excursion. When we reached the Totem Park, we were able to see the start of a new totem project and the design. The park had amazing totems, but I did spend more time in the gift shop as it was my last day to shop for souvenirs. Definitely wish I had more time to appreciate the area. It was still a great experience!

A must stop for any Alaskan enthusiasts - We had an amazing tour with Nora who was very knowledgeable, friendly and you could tell had a passion for the area. Lots of information regarding the plants and animals that inhabit the rainforest, highly recommend for anyone with a passion for the outdoors and nature. Banana slugs were awesome. On top of all of that, we were lucky enough to see bears at the salmon hatchery! Definitely a highlight of our entire Alaskan trip. The totem pole park showed great insight into the cultural significance of the area and how important the indigenous are in Alaska.

Katie and the Rainforest Walk - First of all, thanks to Luke for taking care of the miscommunication and setting us up. Also, thanks to Allee for the VIP truck ride to meet our group! However, the star of the show was indeed Katie. The in-laws are here and I wanted to do something special for them and our excursion today was quite an experience. Katie as our guide for the Rainforest Walk was incredible. A Texas girl and a true "Plant Girl" as she describes herself. I walk in the rainforest almost every day and I can truthfully say that I learned a few things from Katie today. She is professional, knowledgeable, personable and PASSIONATE about her job! She has a great sense of humor and a high energy level, exactly what I was hoping to show my guests today. Did I mention that we saw four bears on our little trek? Absolute grand slam! Kawanti is lucky to have such an asset in Katie!

I Ketchikan See Bears When You Visit - This was one of the best wildlife experiences EVER! Our guides, Will and Cari, were really great. We spotted several black bears, a bald eagle, a Sitka black tail deer, and even two banana slugs! If you appreciate wildlife and observing them in their natural habitat then you simply must make this a stop on your trip through Ketchikan!

Great tour! - We took this tour last week and had Sara as our guide. It was incredible- Sara was super knowledgeable and fun. She really made the tour everything it was and had such a knack for explaining how all the flora and fauna are connected. It was super interesting! We were lucky enough to see a bear at the end of the tour which just made my whole trip. I am so glad we did this tour!!!
