• Khajuraho Temples - Meet the personal guide at the hotel in Khajuraho at 9am to start the day with a transfer to the UNESCO World Heritage site known as the “Western Group of Temples.”
  Begin the visit with the Kandariya Mahadev temple, renowned for its beauty and grandeur. This magnificent structure is adorned with over 870 statues and carvings, showcasing exceptional artistic sculptural work. Explore other temples such as the Chaunset Yogini, dedicated to the Goddess Kali; the Chitragupta or Bharatji, featuring a stunning image of the 11-headed Vishnu; and the Vishwanath, Nandi, Lakshmana, and Visha temples, dedicated to Shiva, which is the largest and most representative of the temples in this area. While the Khajuraho temples are famous for their erotic depictions, the images are also harmoniously balanced with other themes.
  In the early afternoon, enjoy a buffet lunch at one of the city’s finest air-conditioned restaurants.
  Afterwards, venture out to discover the local handicrafts of the town. In this small town, tourism is the primary source of income for the local residents. Observe how nearly every household is involved in some form of commercial activity, with homes converted into budget hotels, shops, and restaurants.
  Finally, in the early evening, there is an optional sound and light show (at your own expense) at the Western Group of Temples complex, offering a brief overview of the life and times of the great Chandela Kings and highlighting the story of the unique temples from the 10th Century to the present day. This captivating 50-minute show is available in both Hindi and English languages.
  At the conclusion of the tour, transportation will be provided back to the hotel, airport, or railway station in Khajuraho around 7pm approximately.

Khajuraho is known for its temples featuring sculptures and artwork depicting eroticism as well as their stunning architecture built between the 9th and 12th centuries during the Chandela Dynasty.

On this full-day tour, you will spend half the day with your guide visiting several of the remaining 20 temples and the other half exploring the city’s commercial areas in search of local handicrafts.
