The Kiama blowhole is a fascinating destination. As visitors await a wave to pass through the connected sea cave, a sense of anticipation builds.
When a loud swoosh is heard, a high-pressure release of seawater occurs, creating a spectacular spray. To ensure a complete experience, a visit to a second contrasting blowhole is included, which emits a more elegant seawater plume.
Sydney is fortunate to have such a wonderful natural attraction just a 2-hour drive away.
- Bombo Headland - The Bombo Headland Geological Site, a former quarry, contains remnants of many broken rocks. Basalt lava columns remain in certain areas, providing a surreal sight against the ocean backdrop. Photographers adore this location!
- Cathedral Rocks - A sea cave and stunning volcanic rocks jutting out of the ocean capture attention at Cathedral Rocks.
- Minnamurra Point - Minnamurra Point offers two lookouts: one for whale watching and another with spectacular views of the beach and Stack Island.
- Sea Cliff Bridge - Sea Cliff Bridge is an incredible structure built to replace a road closed due to rockfalls from the towering cliff above. The road’s unique curvature offers breathtaking views of the ocean and beach below.
- Bald Hill Lookout & Hang Gliding Spot - Bald Hill is a place to watch hang gliders take off and soar above. It also provides a great view of the beaches south to Wollongong and is another spectacular lookout.
- Royal National Park - At this point, the tour proceeds to the Forest Track in the Royal National Park for a walk through a lush rainforest. Large hanging roots, bird’s nest and staghorn ferns, cedar trees, and palms are a real treat. There might even be a chance to spot a lyrebird!
As the tours are flexible, participants can choose to replace the rainforest walk with a coastal walk to Wedding Cake Rock. Both options take around 90 minutes, so either choice fits well into the busy schedule.
- Symbio Wildlife Park - Instead of the rainforest walk, a visit to Symbio Wildlife Park is an option.
This is a flexible private tour, offering choices!
Symbio features a large area where kangaroos and wallabies roam freely.
Other native animals include koalas, echidnas, Tasmanian devils, wombats, dingoes, wedge-tailed eagles, and numerous native birds, including the delightful Gouldian Finch.
Non-native animals at Symbio include cheetahs, lovable meerkats, red pandas, and ring-tailed lemurs.
Participants can decide on the day if they are unsure now.

The day begins with a journey south to the Kiama blowhole, where volcanic rocks create an ideal channel for powerful waves.
When the swell is significant, the spray from the blowhole can reach up to 25 meters into the air. The tour then continues to the small blowhole to witness another eruption.
