Transfer to Akagera National Park - After breakfast at 9:00 AM,

Transfer to Akagera National Park - After breakfast at 9:00 AM,
Kayonza - After a 1.5-hour drive, stop at IMIGONGO COFFEE SHOP for a cup of coffee and a 20-minute break to stretch your legs. Then, continue the journey to the national park.
Akagera National Park - Arrive at Akagera National Park around midday and proceed to the park headquarters for registration. The driver guide will then take you to the Akagera Game Lodge by Mantis for check-in and lunch.
At 2:00 PM, the driver will return to take you on an evening boat ride, which starts at 3:00 PM. Boat trips on Lake Ihema offer visitors the opportunity to explore the rich biodiversity in and around the lake. During the boat trip, you can observe wildlife such as hippopotami and crocodiles. Lake Ihema is renowned for having the largest concentration of hippos in East Africa. This experience lasts 1.5 hours, after which the driver will meet you at the lakeshore to transfer you back to the lodge for a refreshing break before the night game drive.
At 5:30 PM, prepare for the night game drive. Night safaris are the best way to encounter nocturnal animals, providing opportunities to spot leopards, hyenas, lions, bush babies, and more. The drive concludes around 8:30 PM.
Full Game Drive and Later Evening Drive Back to Kigali
Akagera National Park - After breakfast, at 7:00 AM, the driver guide will pick you up from the lodge for a full game drive from the southern to the northern part of the park. During the morning game drive, you will have the chance to see various herbivores such as zebras, impalas, topis, bushbucks, elephants, rhinos, and giraffes. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to observe numerous bird species near the swamps and lakes like Lake Ihema and Lake Shakani. Bird species you might see include the African Fish Eagle, Open-billed Stork, Egrets, Cormorants, Senegal Lapwings, African Darter, Hammerkop, Caruthers’s Cisticola, Pied Crow, Black-headed Weaver, Fan-tailed Widowbird, Violet’s Black Weaver, Long-crested Eagle, Rockefeller’s Sunbird, Chapin’s Flycatcher, Rwenzori Batis, Strange Weaver, and Red-throated Alethe.
Later in the evening, you will return to Kigali from the northern part of the park.

After breakfast around 9h:00 Am, our English /French speaking tour guide will meet you at your hotel or elsewhere in Kigali, short briefing and drive to eastern part of Rwanda, to Park.

Animals are aware of contrast, shouting and bright colors, white and strong patterns create the highest contrast against the forest background. Also, remember not to wear black or blue as these colors seem to attract tsetse flies and other bugs. Also, Keep a distance while making the game.
