Gorilla Trekking Experience At Volcanoes National Park- Rwanda
Volcanoes National Park - Following an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing on trekking protocols and the assignment of your gorilla family. Guided by skilled park rangers, embark on a hike through the forest to find a habituated gorilla family, where you might see playful infants, juveniles, adult females, and the commanding silverback.
The trek may last between 2–6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ previous night’s nesting location and the group’s pace. Upon locating the gorillas, spend one hour observing them.
After the trek, drive approximately 3 hours to Lake Kivu – Kibuye for the night.
Morning Boat Tour of Lake Kivu And Afternoon Transfer to Nyungwe Forest

In the afternoon, enjoy Nyungwe’s renowned canopy walk—a 90-meter-long suspension bridge above the forest floor, offering breathtaking aerial views of the rainforest and its wildlife.
Transfer to Akagera National Park
Akagera National Park - Journey east from Kigali to Akagera National Park, a scenic trip of about 6 hours. Along the way, take in the stunning views of Rwanda’s iconic rolling hills, rural villages, and lush farmlands that gradually give way to the open savannah landscapes of eastern Rwanda.
As you near the park, the terrain flattens into expansive grasslands, acacia woodlands, and beautiful lakes that are part of the Akagera ecosystem. Gishora Drum Sanctuary - Depart Akagera and travel south towards Gitega, Burundi, crossing two international borders — Rwanda–Tanzania and Tanzania–Burundi — on an approximately 8-hour drive including border formalities. Arrive in the late evening for a cultural drums experience at Gishora Drum Sanctuary, a UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage site that holds significant importance in Burundi’s history and ceremonies. Afterward, check in at your hotel.
Transfer to Kibira National Park for Nature Hike
Kibira National Park - After an early breakfast, drive 3 hours to Kibira National Park for a 2-3 hour forest hike, enjoying birdwatching, waterfalls, and primates such as Black-and-white colobus monkeys, Blue monkeys, and others. After the hike, experience the Batwa community before driving 2 hours to Bujumbura city.
Bujumbura City Tour and Departure Back Home
