A visit to Kimironko Market revealed the everyday rhythm of Kigali — colourful produce, animated exchanges and warm smiles. It offered a grounded perspective on daily life beyond the city’s polished façade. The historical component of the tour was equally significant. The Belgian UN Peacekeepers Memorial and the Kigali Genocide Memorial are powerful and sobering sites that reflect Rwanda’s painful past, resilience and remarkable unity.
