The walk will pass through bustling commercial zones, quaint local shops, and the vibrant daily life of the city.
• Camp Kigali Memorial - At the Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial, there will be a moment to honor the memory of the 10 Belgian soldiers who lost their lives at the onset of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The site includes a small museum and the preserved, bullet-marked building where they made their final stand, providing a poignant insight into Rwanda’s history and its path to peace.
• Biryogo Car Free Food Street - Biryogo offers a wealth of experiences, and the tour will capture it all! The walk will navigate through its lively car-free zone, where locals gather at outdoor tea shops, the scent of grilled brochettes fills the air, and the streets are alive with activity. As the exploration continues, participants will encounter stunning street art, showcasing Kigali’s creativity and culture.

The tour will also include a visit to the Nyamirambo Women’s Center, where participants can learn about the community’s inspiring projects and explore locally crafted goods. With no vehicles in sight, it’s an ideal spot to absorb the city’s energy, savor a cup of Rwandan coffee, and admire local street art. The path will pass by small shops, outdoor cafés, and vendors offering everything from crafts to fresh produce. It’s a wonderful place to experience Kigali’s modern, relaxed ambiance and observe the daily life of locals.
