The first stop is the Old Kilbeggan Distillery, one of Ireland’s oldest distilleries, still crafting their renowned Kilbeggan whiskey.
Next, visit a charming Irish town in the heart of Ireland. Athlone boasts Ireland’s oldest pub, Sean’s, which is so passionate about whiskey that they have two of their own brands! You’ll have the chance to sample them after some free time in Athlone to explore or enjoy lunch.
Then, we head to Tullamore, home to the world’s second-largest Irish whiskey brand. The Tullamore D.E.W. Distillery Experience Tour offers an unforgettable experience for whiskey enthusiasts, featuring an all-access tour with delightful surprises.
You’ll return to Dublin by 6:30 pm.

Tour Tullamore D.E.W. but be sure to ask for Frankie!!! - My friend and I had the pleasure of doing a few hour private tour of Tullamore. It was our tour guide who made this a highlight of our trip. Frankie not only was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history of the brand, the factory itself but his lively personality and true joy of his job enhanced every aspect of this tour. He was engaging, funny and a pleasure to spend time with. I have done a fair amount of tours like this and wish i had a guide like this each time. If you book this and can specifically request him we would recommend that you do so! Separately the tour is interesting, the plant and facilities immaculate and the whiskey was pretty darn good :).

One of our best days in Ireland. - We so enjoyed our private whiskey tour to celebrate my husband's 45th birthday. The extra attention and personalized experience capped off our trip to Ireland perfectly. We loved the compare and contrast of the different distillery we visited. Tullamore was the highlight of the day with the awesome intimate group that we toured the facility with and the tour guide being so fun and entertaining...along with the absolute awesome whiskey tastings. My favorite whiskey though was from Sean's Bar. What a treat to get to experience that legendary location. Kilbeggan had so much history and was the perfect start to the day's adventures. I would highly recommend this tour or any tours by Whiskey Island!! We had such a wonderful day and would encourage all to go ahead and schedule your tour! The process and service was so nice and easy and comfortable!! And the conversations with John throughout the day left us highly entertained. John truly does love his job, country and whiskey! Thank you again!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our... - We thoroughly enjoyed our whiskey tour with John. Our focus originally had been to tour Tullamore Dew since we are from San Francisco and use that whiskey to make our Irish coffees after having many from the famous Buena Vista Cafe; however we enjoyed the juxtaposition of touring a very old distillery (Kilbeggan) with a much more modern (Tullamore Dew). Visiting Sean’s Bar was a treat and we had a very enjoyable lunch on our own in Athlone that John had recommended. The pacing of the tour was excellent and John provided the perfect balance of historical commentary when driving and leaving us time on the individual tours. Would highly recommend!

Best Whiskey Tasting Tour - John with Whiskey Island is the best tour guide! We had an amazing day out in the Irish countryside with a very kind and knowledgeable host. Three delicious whiskey tastings and a great lunch & good company. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to explore Ireland for the first time. Pickup was super smooth and the day never felt rushed. We'll definitely be back next trip. Thanks for a great day!

A Class Act all the way! - We did several distillery visits with Irish Whiskey Tours & Tastings, and we found John to be helpful, knowledgeable, and a real professional.
