So good the first time, we used them again a year later - We were lucky enough to have Alex for our guide, and he brought some much appreciated sunshine that day. It was wonderful weather as he drove us around and up to Glencoe, making stops and telling up all about Scotland. Lots of interesting stories and history. We saw coos and had an up-close encounter with wild deer - it was such a treat! The landscape was stunning. I would highly recommend Uncover Scotland, it was our second time using Jordan and his crew. They are the best!

Private Highlands tour is the way to go! - Our family of 5 recently completed the Inspiring Highlands 1 day private tour with William as our tour guide. When we came down from our hotel room, William was already waiting for us dressed in a traditional kilt. I definitely recommend a private tour, as the day unfolds at your pace. Our guide gave us abundant information and history on the ride to the Highlands which kept us all engaged. The weather which was dreary is typical for this time of year. As our elevation increased, so did the beauty. Waterfalls, snow capped mountains and hills. The natural beauty was awesome. Unfortunately, there were no Highland cows out on our trip but the tour was great just the same. We stopped at a charming coffee house along the way to grab some lunch. I have been on a lot of tours in my lifetime but this one had a different feel. It didn't feel like a typical facts and numbers tour. It felt like you were traveling with a friend. Thank you for that, William! Our tour took us around the banks of Loch Lomond and ended with a stop to view the Kelpies, the world's largest equine sculpture. If you are looking for a tour which focuses on the natural beauty of Scotland with expert commentary on its history then this is the tour for you. I'm so glad my daughter, Jen found this tour!

If you can only do 1 tour in Scotland, do it with Uncover Scotland! - We were able to secure a last-minute 2 day tour through Undercover Scotland Tours and it was hands down the best time and money spent during our Scotland stay. Our guide Alex, picked us up at our hotel in Edinburgh in a spotlessly clean van that included cold drinks and carrots for the coos! Alex is passionate about Scotland’s history and sharing places that are off the beaten path if that is of interest to you. I’m sure he’d do a bang up job if you wanted the whole Harry Potter/Outlander experience, but we are more of outdoors adventure and history nerds, so Alex’s ability to give details and explanations of mountain ranges, time periods, ranking clans, and political/cultural upheaval was fantastic. Jordan arranged for a lovely room at Loc Ness Drumnadrochit Hotel and dinner at the Fiddler’s Highland (shoutout to “Loc Ness Jonster” see photo below) that was outstanding. If you don’t want to worry about car rental, driving on the left side of the road, parking, figuring out where to go, and what to see - book a tour with Uncover Scotland (and ask for Alex!) (He even took photos for us!)

Our guide Ricky was the best! - We went on a 6 day/5 night individually designed tour through the Highlands. Ricky was our guide and he was just terrific. We had many specific places we wanted to see and activities we wanted to do (e. g., Midhope Castle, Jacobite Train, Loch Ness cruise, lots of things on Skye, Cairngorm Reindeer Herd, Sheepdog demonstration, etc.) so our itinerary was pretty full. He was very responsive to our needs and wants and, in turn, he was able to offer guidance as to the best timing of various activities to avoid being overwhelmed with crowds. This made all of our stops much more enjoyable than they might otherwise have been. He shared with us the true history and the mystic lore of the Highlands and made sure to point out excellent vantage points for taking photos. Ricky was friendly, accommodating and in unfailingly good humor. His ready laugh was contagious and he communicated well not only with the adults but also with our 3 teens. We would do another tour with him in a New York minute! We had some administrative glitches and miscommunications (that had nothing to do with Ricky!) related to our desires for lodging that was not in the company’s standard repertoire, but I would book with Uncover Scotland again in order to have the chance to travel with Ricky. He really was a ray of sunshine and he brightened all of our travel days!
