As the gentle embrace of spring envelops the Scottish Highlands, Kilmahog stands as a serene gateway to the wonders of this storied landscape. Nestled amidst the rolling hills and tranquil lochs, this quaint village offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural richness. On April 19th, as the clouds cast a soft veil over the land, the Highlands Day Tour offers an ideal opportunity to explore the dramatic countryside in a luxury Mercedes minivan. Departing at 9:00 AM, this tour promises a day of discovery, weaving through the scenic landscapes of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.
The tour meanders through the picturesque village of Aberfoyle, where time seems to slow down, allowing visitors to savor the peaceful pace of Highland life. As you journey further, the village of Luss awaits, offering breathtaking views from its charming pier. The highlight of the day is undoubtedly the chance to meet the iconic Highland cows in Kilmahog, a delightful encounter that captures the essence of the region’s pastoral charm. As the day draws to a close, the tour culminates at the historic Stirling Castle, where the echoes of Scotland’s storied past resonate within its ancient walls.
“Awesome Day in Scotland - We had never done a private shore excursion from the cruise before, we had always booked through the ship. However, when all of the shore excursions were already booked for this voyage we decided to go with Glasgow Chauffer Hire, Ltd. for our excursion from Greenoch and that was the best decision we could have made. Our driver Tom was early to pick us up and gave us a tour of Scotland we could not have done through the ship excursions. Having a private car was so relaxing and we could enjoy the Scottish countryside in peace. Loch Lomond National Park was beautiful and Tom kept the drive both peaceful and entertaining with his knowledge and humor. One of the highlights of the tour was to stop and pet/feed Scottish highland cows. A tour of Sterling Castle also did not disappoint, and we even had time for lunch. Tom’s knowledge of the area allowed us to route around traffic issues and be flexible to adjust the tour in order to fit it all in. Never once did I feel that we were at risk of missing our all aboard time with the cruise ship. Thanks Tom! This was voted on by our kids as one of the best shore excursions we have done so far.” - Reviewed on 2024-09-16
