Incredible experience... - Incredible experience start to finish; 3 course Dinner at Aurora Sky Station; Sami Culture Presentation and Northern Lights Chasing. Erica was incredible! We weren’t so lucky because the Aurora wasn’t ready to make an appearance but we tried for as long as we could. Unfortunately there was no activity in Abisko or Kiruna.

Don’t miss this one! - This was an amazing trip! I loved every moment, start to finish. Ylva is a wonderful guide, and she helped us take truly stunning Aurora photos. I’d heard that Abisko was a great place to see the northern lights and it was.

Exciting trip to the end of the world!! - We had a lovely and very exciting trip with Annette… We were picked from our hotel Camp Ripan around 5:00 PM. Our guide provided winter clothing as we requested (and you WILL need winter clothing!!) as it was -20 C. We then drove about 90 minutes north to Abisko. At Abisko we first had a really nice dinner as Annette told us about Sami culture, her community, and her life and she showed us beautiful pictures. (She is an photographer of the highest caliber!!) Then we walked about 1 km into the wood where we spent around 90 minutes taking photos of the Northern Lights.. Then she drove us all back to our hotel. All in all the tour is around 6-7 hours. We loved the tour and Annette. I especially recommend the tour for photography lovers..

Kept a promise made 23 years ago - When we married in 2001 one of the trips on my wife's bucket list was to see the Northern Lights. We took the plunge and went to Kiruna for New Year and booked on this trip. Our guide, Erika, was amazing - helping take photos and full of local knowledge. When we arrived in Abisko there was the most amazing Northern Lights display which Erika took time to make sure that everyone has amazing photos. After dinner we headed back towards Kiruna and made a stop off in the Lapland wilderness for even more photos with no light pollution. The most amazing and special trip - well worth it.

Start your trip with this tour! - This tour was fantastic, and I’m so lucky it was the first one I did in Kiruna!! What I learned and saw on this trip was so useful during other excursions (some of which provided much less context and instructions about photographing the aurora). Erika was an excellent guide and teacher, and she made the experience unforgettable. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Wonderful experience - We did a photo tour with dinner in Abisko at Scandinavian Photoadventures. It was a very cozy and pleasant evening. Our guide Erika told us a lot about the history of Sweden and the Sami. After dinner, we went into the woods to look for the Northern Lights. Erika went to great lengths so that we could see her – and it worked! Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Would recommend - Our guide Erika was great. We had a delicious dinner where she told us so much about Sweden itself and the Sami culture. She also worked overtime for us and helped us to take amazing pictures of the northern lights. We had a great experience.

Once in a lifetime way to see the Arora. - The plan was to be clothed appropriately, then go by chairlift to the top of the mountain, to have dinner at the top followed by guided introduction to the Northern Lights. On the day we received a phone call in the afternoon to say the chairlift was not running because of winds. There were no winds at the time but we were told that they were expected and they would be worse at the top. As a replacement we were given a meal in a large outside wooden hut where the food was cooked over an open fire. There was a reasonable sized group in the hut. We were very happy with the meal. We were offered a choice of sorts of flights of drinks packages (not included & not cheap) which we turned down but they were happy for us to just order and pay for what wine we wanted. After dinner our guide talked us through some background to the lights and offered to take us on some walks. The first walk was quite short but managed to persuade a few not to go on the longer walk. The outside temp at the time would have been between -10 and -18 degC. The longer walk took us away from light pollution but unfortunately we did not see the Arora despite good indications it would come out. The guide left at about midnight but a group remained behind. Then at about 12.30 to 01.00 the Arora came out and carried on for up to an hour. The colours were muted by naked eye but impressive when shot using a smartphone on night mode - mainly greens on our night. I was pleased I went on the trip and was impressed with all the staff and the guide. I was disappointed about not going to the top as I did not realise this was a risk (maybe the lead traveler in our group had been given that information). This made me feel a little 'shortchanged' on what we had booked and paid for. I realise the presence of the Arora is down to nature so in fact we were lucky but maybe some concession for the altered trip such as a complementary drinks with the meal would have been nice. Tip: When planning your trip consider the phase of the moon. A bright moon reduces the intensity of the Arora.
