A great, relaxing stay! - The staff (and the facility) of Hot Springs of Hvammsvik would have to be given 10 out of 5 stars!!! My highest appreciation for the staff of this facility!!! We arrived in Hammsvik after an hour's drive from Reykjavik (with Reykjavik Excursions) and a very friendly staff member had to inform us that there was a technical problem with the pumps and we were therefore unfortunately unable to get into the plant. However, we were immediately offered to wait (although it was not clear how long the repair could take), and as compensation we were offered, to shorten the waiting time, a lunch of our food and drinks for free. After consultation with our bus driver we were able to accept this offer and wait. For a few people in the group, the employee had even arranged an earlier return transfer. ALL the staff at Hammsvik Hot Springs were very friendly and attentive and made the wait very pleasant with their kindness. It didn't take very long either, then the technical problem was solved and we could enjoy the great, very well maintained and clean facility! Although we have already been compensated for the waiting time, we are even to get a part of the entrance fee refunded! That's what I call customer orientation! Despite the "messed up" beginning of the stay (for which the team could not help! That's technique!) we had a dreamlike and relaxing stay in the Hammsvik Hot Springs!!! We can recommend this facility with a clear conscience at any time!

Relaxing, quiet and just beautiful - Absolutely beautiful - well away from crowds. It was laid back, quiet and just amazing surrounds . Would definitely recommend over other hot springs

A beautiful, in nature hot springs experience. Wish we had more time. - I visited Hvammsvik Hot Springs as part of a Lesbifriends Travel group trip to Iceland, and it was one of my favorite experiences of the trip. Half of our group opted for a more traditional spa experience elsewhere, while the rest of us chose Hvammsvik specifically for the natural setting, and it was absolutely the right choice. The pools are thoughtfully integrated into the landscape, making it feel peaceful, grounding, and very Icelandic. We only scheduled two hours, but honestly could have stayed much longer. Time really flies here in the best way. The staff were helpful and welcoming, and the drive to Hvammsvik was incredibly scenic, which made the experience feel like an adventure even before arriving. One thing to note is transportation. I do wish there were more options available, especially for visitors without access to a car or for larger groups. Overall, this is a wonderful option for travelers who want something more natural and less spa like, and I would absolutely recommend it.

Must see! - Fantastic experience with gorgeous view. Tickets gets you a drink, towel and water shoes. Nice changing and shower facility. Different temps in each spring and can do a cold plunge in ocean. Went at 11am.

Amazing experience - It's absolutely stunning. Location right on the ocean shore, which simply can not be beaten. If you're after a relaxing and awe-inspiring experience in nature, this is the place for you. Not overcrowded at all, unlike others. There is plenty of space and peace. Wish we could go every day. P.S. Take or rent water shoes there.

Natural hot springs away from mass tourism - We visited the Hvammsvík Hot Springs on December 30 and deliberately decided against the well-known facilities such as the Blue Lagoon or Sky Lagoon – and couldn’t have hit it better. The complex is beautifully embedded in nature, wonderfully quiet and incredibly relaxing. Exactly the more “natural” experience we were looking for, far away from mass tourism. For me an absolute highlight and a clear recommendation! Make sure to book tickets online in advance. We will definitely come back.

Great setting and uncrowded - We booked this in advance direct on the website (with additional Reykjavik Excursions bus transfer option). Transfer 0930 bus arrived slightly late at our chosen Bus Stop 1 in the town centre - then took us up to the BSI bus terminal for 1000 leaving time. About a 1 hour ride to the springs. Check was smooth we had opted for the towel and beach shoes option (shoes were a very good decision). Open changing rooms with a couple of private cubicles and enclosed showers. Springs themselves arranged as about 10 pools of varying temperatures (and steam room) with views of the ocean inlet. Drinks bar near one pool with free first drink. Not particularly crowded and we far preferred it as an experience having been to the Blue Lagoon before. Bus left at 2pm and back at 3pm.

Nature on display at this new hot spring spa - This is a newer and relatively small hot spring experience. About 45 minutes to 1 hour drive from Reykjavik. More in nature, out by the whale fjords. The facilities are adequate for a spa of this size but not luxurious. They have different pools at varying temperatures, including a path down to the ocean where you can do a cold plunge. (It was too dark for us to do this part). They have a lovely cafe serving a small but tasty menu, with an outstanding seafood soup that had a delicious Asian inflection. They also have oils, soaps and moisturizers for sale. A limited range but wonderful aroma! Big takeaway: make sure you have your transportation worked out as it can be a long wait for a private cab back to the city unless you’re in a large group.

Nice and relaxing. Almost a 5 star - Did the afternoon till closing when dark. Very mysterious and very relaxing. Not very crowded which made it very nice. Plenty of quiet corners to spend with my wife. An hour from Reykjavík due to fog but that was fine Only thing that kept it from 5 stars was the locker room was way too small. No personal space what so ever. Just too crowded even late in the day. My wife said the same thing on the woman’s side. Overall a great evening

Fine, but... - The place is beautiful, there is nothing wrong. The fjord is superb, the pools allow a beautiful view, the beach changes according to the tide. It's beautiful and soothing. The possibility of swimming in the ocean is a plus, of course. But... The entrance ticket is very expensive, enough to expect a customer service at the height. For example, staff at the checkout when we arrive, and if not, a word, a gesture, a look, something that attests to our presence, from the restaurant staff, could be nice. I had booked the bus transfer for my friend and I. Our group was therefore expected at a specific time, but no one was there to greet us, and the restaurant staff did not even look at us. I found it a little light and unprofessional. Another negative point is that before arriving on the spot, it is almost impossible to interact with a human being. On the site, it is a robot, by email, it is a robot, and even on the phone, it is a robot. The office is closed on weekends and the machines remain permanently... We go to Hvammsvik to be in harmony with nature and we can't talk to a human being... that too is a little light. Ah! And I had to pay over 4000 isk to change the schedule of my coming, no other bath in Iceland does that. Too bad the state of mind doesn't match the beauty of the place.
