If chosen, the visit takes approximately 80 minutes and involves stone-paved paths and steps leading to and from the cave entrance.
The Cave of Zeus is seasonal, operating from May 1 to October 31, 2026, subject to local authority conditions.
When the cave is not visited or accessible, the experience naturally focuses on the Lassithi Plateau, surrounding villages, viewpoints, and the broader mythological and cultural landscape associated with Zeus.
- Aposelemis Dam - Leaving the plateau, captivated by panoramic views, the descent continues until reaching the sunken village of Sfendyli in the Aposelemis Dam. A brief stop allows for imagining life in the village, where one can almost see and hear children playing in a once vibrant community.
