- Knysna - This experience provides a unique chance to delve into the culture and lifestyle of the Township people in South Africa, especially the Xhosa community. Participants will be guided through an African township, walking along dusty roads and engaging with locals to learn about their traditions, beliefs, religion, and history. Highlights include meeting a Sangoma (traditional healer) and possibly tasting Xhosa beer and herbal remedies, visiting a crèche (children’s center), and interacting with the children, who may delight with songs. Additionally, there will be a visit to the Sanlam Center, exploration of local shops, and an opportunity to try vetkoek, a traditional snack. This educational journey offers a fresh perspective on South Africa, promoting understanding and support for its communities.

The original Knysna Township Tour was established 26 years ago to benefit the broader community. We support preschools, and your participation is both essential and greatly appreciated. Together, we can make a difference, promote education, and provide support for our people in the townships.
Join us to walk the streets, chat with the locals, and visit the crèche, cobbler, hairdresser, and butcher with your local guide. You will also have the opportunity to meet the Sangoma and explore a real RDP house.
- Some venues may not be available on weekends or weekdays.
- You are welcome to support the school with supplies, clothing, or food donations.
