Kobe is an amazing city!!... - Kobe is an amazing city!! Our guide Mahoko was excellent. Her English was fantastic as she has lived in both Canada and the US. After a trip up the ropeway to the herb gardens, we had a lovely stroll down thru the gardens. She also loves plants and was showing/telling us about the different types. We communicated before the tour that we wanted to go to a local restaurant for lunch. She took us to a place that only a local would know about! We had a wonderful lunch of kushikatsu, prepared before our eyes. She translated what the chef was telling her about the local ingredients and preparation. Afterwards we saw some more sites and learned of the history. We shopped a little before returning to our cruise ship in the port. I would highly recommend this tour as well as Makoko! I hope to be back soon and have her show me around Osaka.

Lovely visit - Natsuko was just delightful. She has a lovely personality and wanted to tailor the trip to meet our needs. The restaurant we visited was divine and very elegant. The Chinese market and gondola ride were colorful and well worth our visit. Natsuko explained many details about life in Japan that we really appreciated. We made a wonderful friend.

Buyer Beware!!! - 1. Public transportation at your own cost is needed for this tour, although it is not disclosed. 2. Impossible to see all sites on itinerary in time allotted unless you take a taxi, which also was not disclosed. This 4 hour tour was to include Chinatown (30 minutes), Kobe Port Tower (30 minutes), Kobe Harborland (1 hour), Ikuta Shrine (30 minutes) and Kobe Ninobiki Herb Gardens (30 minutes). Time allotted for sites total 3 hours, leaving 1 hour for travel. As no mention of needing public transport was indicated on the tour offering we assumed this was a walking tour. Oddly the night before our tour (after the time for cancellation and refund had passed) we received a text from the guide stating “The tour involves quite a bit of walking so if you prefer to take it easy, you may consider using a taxi…the fare will be at your own expense. Also what is the most important aspect of your visit to Kobe?” Quite odd correspondence as we expected the tour to include everything on the itinerary as described. So the morning of the tour we meet our guide and she informs us that we need to take a taxi or a train because it is too far to walk. Our guide Uka was wonderful and gave us a great experience in Kobe. We have no complaints about her. But the problem was that we were only able to see 3 of the 5 sites in the time allotted. The company misrepresented their itinerary. Even taking a taxi to each of the sites would not have given us the time at each site that they represented in their itinerary. Bottom line: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. BUYER BEWARE! This tour is not as described.
