Prior to the experience, you’ll fill out a brief questionnaire to help customize your itinerary. Here’s a sample route to inspire your journey:
• Ikuta Shrine - Start at one of Kobe’s oldest and most esteemed Shinto shrines, quietly situated in the city center. Your host will discuss its historical and cultural importance while leading you through its serene grounds and nearby sacred sites.
• Chinatown (Nankinmachi) - Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Nankinmachi, Kobe’s bustling Chinatown. With your host, delve into the area’s history and savor local specialties like steamed buns, ramen, and Japanese-style Chinese dishes.
• Port of Kobe Earthquake Memorial Park - Visit this poignant memorial that preserves the damage from the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake. Your host will share personal stories and local insights on Kobe’s resilience, rebuilding efforts, and the community spirit that emerged.

Once booked, a brief questionnaire will be sent to match participants with a compatible host. The host will then contact them to propose an itinerary and confirm the meeting location. The itinerary is adaptable, enabling exploration at a comfortable pace and modifications along the way.
