• Kochi (Cochin) - Our guide and driver will meet you in Kochi city and transfer you to the Alleppey houseboat boarding location. The drive from Kochi to Alleppey takes approximately 2 hours. Check in to the houseboat.

• Punnamada - The following houseboat backwater program is designed for those who wish to explore the best canals in and around Alleppey. Board the houseboat from Alleppey Jetty at 11:00 AM, and the houseboat will navigate through the finest canals of Alleppey until 1:30 PM. During this time, the boat will cover the most scenic canals in Alleppey.

• Irumbanam Thodu - This is a narrow canal located in the renowned Kainakari village. As you pass through the canal, you can see paddy fields, local villages, schools, and more.

• Meenapalli Paddy Field - Lunch at 1:30 PM at Meenappalli Kayal, a small lake in the middle of the Alleppey backwaters.

• Kainakary - Kainakary is one of the most picturesque villages in Alleppey, offering stunning views of the backwaters. The post-lunch trip starts at 2:15 PM and continues until 5:00 PM. The houseboat will travel through some of the beautiful villages in Alleppey, including Kainakari Village, Venattukadu, and others. The boat will also cover canals like Kuttithod, R Block, and C Block before concluding at 5:00 PM.

• Punnamada Lake - This river, 75 feet wide, is famous for hosting Kerala’s annual snake boat race regatta.

• SNDP Thodu - Another canal approximately 75 feet wide, where you can see many local homes, temples, and restaurants along the banks.

Houseboat Tips

1. Your houseboat trip includes a welcome drink, vegetarian or non-vegetarian lunch, and evening coffee/tea and snacks.
2. This is a private boat, not shared.
3. If you have any food allergies, please notify us well in advance.
4. Since it’s a short trip, there is NO option for local sightseeing on foot or walking through villages.
5. We do not recommend buying extra fish or other items from the local market. If you have a preference for a particular extra food, we will be happy to assist you.
6. This program is only possible if guests check in at 11:00 AM. In case of a delayed check-in, covering all the canals and rivers as per the program is not possible, and extended cruising time after 5:30 PM is not available. NO refund for the unused portion is available.
7. Paddy fields are visible from October to February only.
8. Smoking on houseboats is prohibited.
9. Liquor is not provided by the service provider. Guests who wish to consume liquor can bring their own, or SreesTours can provide it on the boat if ordered in advance, with extra service charges.

Check out from the houseboat at 5:00 PM and proceed back to Kochi. Drop off in Kochi and the tour ends.

• Kuttamangalam - Kuttamangalam canal is a very narrow canal popular among tourists, featuring many local villages and paddy fields. The canal is so narrow that a small open boat is required to navigate it. With many villages and paddy fields located here, you can experience an unforgettable Alleppey village experience. We have included a 1-hour open boat canal cruise through Kuttamangalam in this trip. You will be transferred to a canoe with an expert guide for the hour-long cruise. Afterward, return to the houseboat.
