Good opportunity to meet others and eat homemade cooking - This was a good opportunity to meet others in japan and taste some yummy homemade cooking. The people were friendly and the food was tasty. It can be a bit tight at times if there are many people since the venue is not super big.

Great opportunity to hang out with others in a relaxed setting. Bring your friends! - We have been here several times, and its always been a fun experience, where you’ll always leave stuffed full of food and interesting conversation. Food really brings people together, and the folks at Canal Palace really do go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We often see many repeat guests (ourselves included)!

Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere with delicious food! - The hosts were very friendly and made sure to introduce us to other guests, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere right from the start. We enjoyed a variety of delicious homemade Japanese dishes, with options for vegetarians and pescatarians, plus drinks for everyone. It was a great mix of Japanese locals, international guests, and travellers all chatting and connecting in a relaxed setting. A perfect place for language exchange and cultural connection—I highly recommend it!

Delicious, Homely and Unbeatable Price! - This dinner was amazing! Hide-san makes fantastic food, one of the best meals I had here in Japan, and it's so cheap too. And the atmosphere is great, feels like home. Can only recommend!

Break the ice and make friends in Tokyo immediately! - This is an incredible way to immediately break the ice in Tokyo and get to know both local Japanese people and other travellers. The hosts are warm, welcoming and friendly people. It became a gateway to many more authentic Japanese experiences because of the hosts' wealth of knowledge and eagerness to share.
