Kotor Old Town - a must see! - Kotor is a beautiful city surrounded by mountains encapulating a bay of clear waters. Our guide, Jelena, was amazing… she showed us all around Old Town and told us of its history and Montenegrin culture. We had some amazing food - a platter of smoked meats, cheeses, breads, spreads and fish followed by some delicious mussels and a squid ink risotto - the latter wasn’t my particular favourite, but if that’s your thing, you’ll really enjoy it. It was our first night in Kotor and a really great way to get acclimated with our surroundings and gives us an idea of the choice of restaurants, bazaars and markets we can visit. Kotor is also a paradise for cats - they are loved here… they encourage recycling plastic by providing vending machines where when plastic bottles are deposited, you receive some dried cat food so you can feed your feline friends as you’re out and about soaking up the culture.

Unique - We met our guide for a private tour for just the two of us. I was expecting it to be a small group and initially I felt intimidated as I couldn’t blend in. While our guide didn’t spend a lot of time explaining and touring us around the city, we had a fabulous conversation over a huge and delicious spread of food. We didn’t follow a leader hearing information about buildings, but rather sat down with a local and talked to him about life. He was a very passionate man with many interesting stories and perspectives. What a unique experience. I will remember this more than any regurgitated facts.

Fantastic way to see and taste the beauty of Kotor. - What a fantastic tour with Marina. She made us feel like we were meeting up with a friend. Marina told us about the history of Kotor and also what family life is like. The food from the market was great and we bought some to take on our trip. The restaurant was fantastic and the food unbelievable from the cold platter of cheese and meets to the black risotto which is to die for. Marina is an excellent hostess and a great way to spend a few hours on a Sunday. When you come to Kotor you must do this tour.

Another great tour - Our guide knew her town inside and out. We ended up being the only couple booked so we had a fantastic private tour. Told and showed things we would have never experienced.

Lunch with a Local! - A nice mix of walking history and lunch. I'm so sorry I can't remember our guide's name. . . but I would suggest renaming this tour Lunch with a Local. Because after a few snacks in the market we had the walking tour then a lovely lunch where we got a good look at what it's like to live here. A great experience!

Fun experience with a personal guide. Bruna was great! - This was a fun way to get to know Kotor and the traditional foods of Montenegro. Further, having a personal guide gives you the opportunity to ask your own questions to satisfy your curiosity about the country, culture, etc. Bruna was fun and, by the end of my tour, she felt more like a new friend than a personal guide!
