Nestled among the steep limestone mountain slopes and deep river canyons, these villages blend seamlessly with their natural surroundings. The daily guided tour begins in the charming valley of west Zagori, passing through Aristi and enjoying the changing landscape. A stop is made at River Voidomatis, one of Europe’s cleanest rivers, where visitors can take a refreshing dip in its icy waters if they choose. The tour then ascends to the villages of Papigo, visiting Ovires Rogovo, which features natural pools in a narrow canyon, and the village of Mikro Papigo. The journey continues over a 1,090 m pass to reach central Zagori, offering a breathtaking view of the Vikos Canyon at its deepest point (nearly a kilometer). Here, a small snack of traditional pies, fruits, and local sweets is enjoyed before visiting Dilofo, a village in the heart of Zagori.

ZAGORI - A collection of 46 villages sculpted from stone into magnificent edifices and streets. They stand proudly amidst the precipitous limestone mountain ranges and the profound canyons of the surrounding rivers, seamlessly merging into their environment. Our day-long guided journey commences from the charmingly scenic valley of west Zagori, taking us through Aristi, all the while marveling at the ever-changing landscape. Our next stop is at the pristine River Voidomatis, one of the purest rivers in Europe, and if your daring heart desires, you can take a plunge into its refreshingly chilly waters. Our journey then ascends to the villages of Papigo. The trip includes visiting the natural pools at Ovires Rogovo, located within a slim canyon and the cosier village of Mikro Papigo. Then we cross a pass of 1,090 meters to reach central Zagori for a splendid view of the deepest point of Vikos Canyon, nearly a kilometer deep. There, we enjoy a modest snack of traditional pies such as spinach pies, assorted seasonal fruits, and local sweets. The expedition continues with a visit to Dilofo, a village positioned in the heart of Zagori.
