Highly Recommend - Our guide, Bohgan, (Discover Cracow) was very helpful and knowledgeable. It's a long day but well worth the visit.

Auschwitz-Birkenhau experience - Went to Auschwitz-Birkenau as a family of 4. Natalia was our guide who translated the information spoken by Polish guide to English so we could have an understanding of the history behind the concentration camps. Fair play to Natalia! She did an excellent job and we had a very enjoyable day.

Very touching - Very touching place, I was there just today, and in this regard I would like to give you some tips. Point before the entrance ticket to the camps is free, just book on the official website (but do it several days before otherwise you won't find them) Point according to the guides to turn in the fields there are and are made available by the site itself without having to pay anything. At the pick up of the entrance ticket on a board you will see the departure times of the different guides written (they are in all languages) and just wait for the reported time. Third party point the shuttle between the two camps runs every 4 minutes and is free for everyone. Point four the ticket from Krakow to the camps costs very little and to get there it takes about the same time as it would take with a bus. Finally don't give money to all these pseudo tour operators who ask you for a lot of money to give you ABSOLUTELY nothing (unfortunately it happened to me) Have a nice trip 🙂

Auschwitz-Birkenau - Tour August 25 Heatwave! - Meeting point arranged but changed last minute to a VERY EARLY 4.30a.m start. A few unhappy travellers with this change. Our guide Ilona handled all the messages professionally & once on our bus she explained this was due to the high numbers of visitors each day and the wait she had experienced the previous day having left at 5a.m. (300 ahead in queue at 6.30a.m!) So we were thankful to be in and started by 8.30a.m. The tours are then guided from staff within the museum. Microphone guided tour. You can take back packs, you must go through security first. Tour is approx 2-3 hours with a short break inbetween the two sites. Restaurant and good toilet facilities on site, prices a little on the high side as is usual in this type of Tour but well stocked. Lots of walking. The sheer scale and horror of the holocaust is certainly realised by the end of the tour especially in week which turned out to be a heatwave, unusual for Krakow in August (26-30°C!!) So the walking in midday heat was a challenge for some.

It’s giving, scam vibes. - I would give the actual tour of aushwitz and birkenau a 5/5 stars. However, discover cracow were pretty disappointing, the only they they did well was pick us up at the meeting point on time and drop us back to krakow again. Firstly they changed the meeting time last minute to 3.30am because they had not purchased our tickets in advance of the trip, fair enough it says they need to be purchased months in advance. But I feel that is just poorly run because we ended up having to leave at 3.30am we arrived in aushwitz at 4.30am and had to wait in the freezing cold until 9.30am until we got a ticket. What they don’t tell you is that other pre booked groups will go ahead of you and take up all the tour times in whatever language they choose, so we ended up having to wait until 11.30am for our tour. Kate did not communicate well and became stressed at the ticket desk and was actually quite rude to myself and a couple of people on the tour. She then quickly explained what would happen and left us to our own devices to complete the tour with the museums official guide. Like I said the actual tour was wonderful, Lukas who works at aushwitz was incredible. But discover cracow who we bought the tickets with get a 1 star for poor communication and how inconsiderate it was to leave a group of people standing in minis degree head for more than 5 hours. People were actually crying, incredibly hungry and incredibly cold and frustrated. Word of advice, call aushwtiz directly and book a ticket through them and get your own transport there to avoid this. I feel that my experience of the tour while it was good was tarnished by how exhausted, hungry and cold I already was. Also. The restaurant on site did not have any gluten free options so I was starving all day. Genuinely nightmarish and I would never have chosen to go on the tour had I known all of this in advance. We are just lucky we got a ticket before they all sold out. A word of advice, the tour guide should wait in line with IDs and let the guests stay on the bus u til they retrieve tickets then come to the bus and give out tickets. The ticket office don’t even ask to see any of us individually anyway to check our ID. Ridiculous.

Do not use Viator to book this trip - They cancelled without notice on the day of our tour. We waited for over an hour for them to come and collect us. Offered no compensation. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! Totally disappointed and ruined our holiday. Cannot believe they are asking for a review!!!

Huge scam!!!... - HUGE SCAM!!! They don’t provide what you pay for. They sell Auschwitz tours claiming the tickets are “guaranteed skip-the-line”. In reality, all they provide is a bus ride to Auschwitz, where a fake “guide” just tells you how to queue for 4 hours. Our original departure time was 6:00 am. At 4:00 pm the day before, we were suddenly told the departure was moved to 3:00 am, just to be first in line and maybe get tickets. So you end up waiting at least 3 hours outside, in the cold Polish night, hoping to finally enter. And of course, since this notice comes less than 24 hours before departure, you can’t get your money back. No matter what the company replies to my comment there was absolutely no mention that we would have to queue for hours. The so-called “guaranteed skip-the-line” simply does not exist. It is truly disgraceful to exploit such a place of memory with a scam like this, making money off people in such a disrespectful way.
