The best guides - WALKER (Michael) was our exceptional driver and tour guide for the Auschwitz tour on September 25, 2025, His compassionate, knowledgeable approach helped us navigate the emotional weight of the site, making a profoundly sad experience feel supported and meaningful. His professionalism and sensitivity were outstanding. Highly recommend!

Never to be forgotten - There is a long walk between Auschwitz and Birkenau ..good footwear is essential .. a guide is invaluable, we had a man called WALKER. Couldn’t have asked for anyone better. Knowledgeable and passionate.. an asset.. it is obviously close to his heart. It has taken a few days for it to all sink in.. watching videos and reading all about these camps doesn’t give it justice. It needs to be seen .. Auschwitz-Birkenau will stay with me .

Private car tour ,Salt mines and Auschwitz / Birkenau - Booked directly with Krakow Direct,we had good correspondence from the company, we used them for the airport transfer also. Marcin was our driver for the day he was very friendly, knowledgeable and excellent English. He guided us to the tour start points and met us straight away after a pleasure to spend 12 hrs with. We chose a private car which while more expensive than the bus tour it was excellent value now that we have done it a worry free experience with a more personal touch. We would recommend booking directly with Krakow direct as we heard third party operators may not be absolutely clear about the tickets and queuing.

A fantastic and informative trip to Auschwitz - An incredible experience reflecting on some of the darkest moments in recent history. A very well organised tour from start to finish with a great tour guide and driver - Michael “Walker” - who clearly knew a lot about the site and shared some interesting, yet shocking facts. We would highly recommend him and this tour to anyone wanting to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau - Michael created a safe and friendly atmosphere whilst maintaining a respectful tone in memory of all the victims.

Unforgettable experience - We highly recommend booking this tour in advance, as times can change at short notice (ours moved from 8:30 to 11:30 the night before, and one was even cancelled). Avoid relying on Krakow information centres—book online instead. Do this tour on a separate day from the Salt Mine, as it’s long and tiring. Bring your own water and snacks (vending machines are card only and very expensive) and wear good footwear, as there’s lots of walking with uneven ground and little chance to sit. In summer, there’s no shade, so dress for the heat; in winter, prepare for the cold. We’d also strongly advise visiting Schindler’s Factory beforehand, as the tour isn’t just about the site itself—it covers the wider history. Doing the factory first gives you much more context and a deeper understanding of the events leading up to what you’ll see here. The tour itself was powerful and moving, with an excellent guide and plenty of insight. It can feel rushed at times, so take photos of letters and exhibits to read later. Headphones are provided, but check they’re charged. Overall, this is an unforgettable and very worthwhile experience—just plan ahead, book early, and allow flexibility in your schedule.

Great trip, tinged with sadness - Excellent trip, tinged with real sadness - highly recommend that people do it as it shows the inhumanity of humans. We used Krakow Direct (Jack was the driver) who was excellent. Definitely would recommend this tour company should you wish to do this trip.

Trip that needs to be done - Jack our guide collected on time from the pick up point and took us to Auschwitz, on the way he explained about it and put his family history into the times. He made sure that we all understood where the meeting points were. After the visits Jack asked where we would like dropping off and took us to our hotels which I thought was really good (he didn’t have to). I would highly recommend the tour with Krakowdirect and say Jack the guide / driver was great .

Well managed experience, informative and somber. Good way to explore the camps - Our guide was Walker— he ensured everything run smoothly and at the right pace to get in everything ontime. Hard to do with a large geographic. He was very knowledgeable and a great communicator. He was both driver and guide, which is very hard work for 7/8hrs straight. Bravo! Felt informed and taken care of throughout.

A must see for everyone, in the name of humanity - This was the second time I'd visited Auschwitz but just as harrowing as it was 13 years ago. I do think it's a must for people to visit, especially in these turbulent times, as a reminder of just how dark society can get and how we must strive to avoid genocide at the earliest opportunity.Walker was an excellent guide at navigating providing information with the gravity of the visit.
