Wonderful wooden churches - This was probably the highlight of our trip to Poland. We were really looking forward to it but Maciej’s itinerary far exceeded our expectations, and he even showed us a couple of additional churches and a WW1 cemetery due to my interest. Maciej was a fantastic guide; so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and engaging. An incredibly memorable day!

Amazing! - This was an amazing tour. When I booked this tour, I had no idea of all the amazing churches that we would see. My husband and I would never have been able to see all these on our own. Our tour guide, made sure that we made it to all the stops plus many extra churches, a WW1 cemetery, stop for a local fresh sausage, lunch and if Matthew asks you if you like cookies you say yes. Matthew also does a castle tour and others. If we had time we would definitely book another of his tours.

What a wonderful and unique day! - The Wooden Architecture Tour in the Litle Poland exceeded our expectations. Not only were the wooden churches (UNESCO World Heritage sites) impressive, but also the landscapes we discovered during this day trip were equally breathtaking. Thanks to Maciej (our guide) we had the opportunity to visit the main churches and gain a deeper understanding of the origin of these unique buildings through engaging explanations. Moreover, we enjoyed a very tasty home made food cooked by a local family and discovered overwhelming views off the beaten track. This is a perfect tour if you are looking for an exceptional day

Excellent visit to the Wooden Churches of Lesser Poland - It was a wonderful tour, both the beauty of the wooden churches and the excellent guide, Maciej. The trip was very well organized, all the details were taken care of: the trip itself, the stops at the churches, the spot for the lunch, etc. In some of the wooden churches we had a local guide whose explanations were translated into English by Maciej. He is very competent, a skilful driver, a very friendly person, we had a nice chat with him throughout the trip ... We could not have asked for a better guide!

Priceless and unique experience! - Maciej Szymniak was a superb and careful driver over a journey of about 10-plus hours and 300 km. He was an even better guide throughout. This was the highlight of our trip to Poland and we would not have been able to see these wonderful UNESCO wooden churches on our own by renting a car since Maciej called ahead to arrange that the churches would be open for us and a local guide provided when available, We saw much else as well, beyond the UNESCO sites. A truly wonderful experience with a delightful and knowledgeable guide/driver!

Excellent experience in Poland - Our family had a wonderful time on this excursion visiting many of the wooden UNESCO churches of Poland. Our guide, Maciej (Matthew), was absolutely wonderful. His communication was excellent both leading up to the trip and during the day together. He had the route well planned and that included coffee or other stops along the way. His company, Poland Active, has many other types of excursions too, all of which look interesting. We highly recommend him and this company to you.

A wonderful and unique experience - If like I was, you have been drawn in by photos of the unique and beautiful UNESCO world heritage site churches and want to also see something of the beautiful rural Malopolska region then I highly recommend this tour led by Poland Active. This is an exceptional tour led by a highly professional guide. From first communication via email to arrange the tour to a reassuring WhatsApp message the day before to confirm arrangements, I felt assured that this was a well organised and trustworthy company. Maciej my guide arrived promptly at a convenient meeting point and explained his plans for the day, with thoughtfully planned comfort breaks and a lunch stop. The tour lasted around 11 hours and covered a wide area with the opportunity to see 8 wooden churches, each with a distinctive architectural style. Local guides had been booked in advance to open up the buildings and reveal the intricate and beautiful polychrome decoration which dates back hundreds of years. The whole day was very well planned, and the pace of the trip was perfect. Maciej is a safe driver and a thoughtful and knowledgeable guide who went out of his way to ensure I enjoyed the tour. A unique and memorable experience, Thankyou!

Day Trip of a Lifetime - We had a wonderful time touring the wooden churches in lesser Poland. Our guide, Maciej (Matthew), was excellent and he really made the tour special for us. There were plenty of opportunities for photos at each church, and Maciej knew all the best spots for photos! We had sufficient rest stops for coffee/snacks and toilets, and a delicious Polish lunch along the way. Maciej was also an excellent and safe driver, which we appreciated. We would not have been able to coordinate such a trip on our own. We were so impressed that we booked a second tour. Thank you, Maciej, for such a memorable day!
