What a great day! - This was a fantastic experience. Not only did we go to a local market (where our guide regularly shops) but we went back to her apartment and learned how to make pierogis using her family recipe. That alone was worth the time and money. She also had numerous other polish foods for us to try and explained about each one. In addition, Magdalena was the perfect guide. She was open and willing to share her experiences of living in Krakow. She was patient, kind, and encouraging with our cooking efforts. It would have been worth it just to get to spend time with this lovely young woman. Just an all around wonderful experience!

Ask for Alicja, made this class one not to miss - After world traveling with young kids for 8 months, this is one of the best cooking classes we’ve done. Alicja incorporated feeling like a local with the market visit, polish phrases, special treats, etc.

Best pierogi cooking class ever! - We really enjoyed our Pierogi making class with Alicja! Our group of 7 which included seniors and children loved the extra touches of a short Polish language lesson and written guide before we shopped in the market for our ingredients, even picking up a few other things that were not pierogi related. It was one of the best cooking class experiences we have done! Highly recommend this!

A must do in Krakow and one of the best tours we have ever done - We did this tour with Magdalena and she was simply amazing. We met her near the local market and got to purchase each ingredient with her helping us with our Polish. Then went to her local home and learned to make the Pierogis, it was very hands on and she made it fun and easy. We were traveling with teenagers who can be hard to please and they loved it as well. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this was to help us learn not only about Pierogis but the town and culture as well.

Amazing experience we will never forget!! - My partner and I both have Polish roots, so when we came across a pierogi making class we decided to splurge and go for it. We both agree it was worth every cent and more. Our guide Agata was an absolute delight from the very start. She helped us learn some basic Polish phrases and guided us through a local market. She took the lead, but encouraged us to try out our new vocabulary. It was a great way to experience the market! We then took a cab to her home, which was very clean and in a beautiful location. She had already prepped some of the ingredients which helped a lot. We got started on the dough and mixing the filling (we did classic potato, cheese, and onion). Agata was very helpful with directions and advice, as well as giving us tips for when we made them at home. She was also very patient when it came to teaching us how to close the pierogi and was willing to show us again as needed. While we waited for dough to set, Agata set up a spread of snacks (meat, cheese, etc.) and gave us beer and water. She told us about where the different foods came from and how they were used in Polish cooking and snacking. It was a delicious precursor to the star of the show… The pierogis were absolutely amazing. With Agata’s help we were able to prepare two plates of deliciousness. I enjoy cooking at home, but was worried about how they would turn out. They were perfect, and my partner and I agreed that they were the best we’d had in the city. After we were done with the pierogi, Agata set up a dessert and tea spread of multiple local sweets. It was absolutely wonderful. As amazing as those pierogi were, they are not the best thing from this experience. That honor would go to our guide Agata. She was very sweet and a wonderful conversationalist. We really enjoyed talking to her throughout the morning. She is very hospitable and passionate about her country and culture. She has a wealth of knowledge and left us with a lot of great information. She also prepaid for a cab from her place to our next stop, which was much appreciated. We highly recommend this experience. It is, without a doubt, something we will never forget and we’re already looking forward to putting our newfound pierogi skills to use back home!

Making pierogi like gramma made - We had a great time making pierogi with Alicja. She welcomed us into her home, sharing snacks and drinks and making us feel very comfortable with her warmth and friendliness. She told us stories of her pierogi making past with her grandmother (we even got to use her rolling pin!) and encouraged us through our novice uncertainty. The results were delicious. I highly recommend the experience.

Fun and informative class -new skill unlocked! - As part of our Rick Steves best of Poland tour, we took this pierogi making class with Magdalena. After a trip to the local market to order the ingredients, we proceeded to Magdalena’s apartment to learn how to make pierogies. We had a wonderful time learning how to make this classic polish dish. Hands on and easy to follow, magdalena guided us every step of the way. I’ve successfully made the pierogies at home to the delight of my family. Thank you!
