• Krakow’s Rynek Glowny Central Square - The tour begins with transportation from Krakow, meeting at Wielopole 2 Street. The Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum is situated in Oswiecim, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away (65 km). All drivers we work with have the necessary EU permissions for passenger transport. An English-speaking and friendly group leader will be available to assist whenever needed. Upon arrival in Oswiecim, there will be a short break to enjoy a coffee or view outdoor exhibitions. We will gladly assist in obtaining free entrance tickets to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.
• Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau - Begin your self-guided tour by entering the gate to the first camp, Auschwitz I, initially designed as a concentration camp for Polish citizens arrested after Germany annexed the country in 1939. The iconic sign “Arbeit Macht Frei” (Work Makes You Free) is present here. Explore at your own pace without any rush. This section typically takes 2 hours, using a guidebook and map. Visit the original wooden buildings, fortified walls, barbed wires, gas chambers, and crematoria, all of which leave a profound impression, illustrating the scale of the Holocaust.
• Brzezinka - After the first camp, a short break of up to 15 minutes is planned. We will take you to the second part of the tour, Birkenau (Auschwitz II), just 3 minutes away. This is the largest camp, built and operated to make Europe “Judenrein” (free of Jews). The self-guided tour continues with a poignant lecture about the camp in Brzezinka (Birkenau), constructed in 1941 on Heinrich Himmler’s orders, capable of holding around 90,000 prisoners. You will hear about the horrific living conditions, cruel selections, and pseudo-scientific medical experiments conducted by prominent Nazi doctors, including Josef Mengele. The tour concludes with the story of the 60th Army of the First Ukrainian Front soldiers who liberated Auschwitz on January 27, 1945, leaving a lasting impression that such genocide should never have occurred and must never happen again.
• Krakow - At the end of the tour, there is no rush. A minimum 20-minute break is provided, allowing time to visit a bookstore, grocery store, or simply rest. After another 1 hour and 15 minutes of travel, you will be taken to Radisson Blue Straszewskiego 17 in Krakow.
