Oskar Schindler’s Enamel Factory - Visit one of Kraków’s most popular museums — Schindler’s Enamel Factory, where history is vividly brought to life through impactful exhibitions and skilled storytelling. This museum offers more than just a biography; it provides a thorough exploration of the Nazi occupation era, illustrating how the war altered the city and its inhabitants’ lives.
With a licensed expert guide, bypass the lengthy ticket queues and delve into the exhibition “Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939–1945.” Located in Oskar Schindler’s former enamel factory, the museum highlights not only his story but also the everyday experiences of both Jewish and non-Jewish residents of Kraków during the war.
As visitors navigate the galleries, they will discover original artifacts, photographs, and immersive reconstructions. Much of the exhibition is set in a series of narrow, dimly lit rooms, intentionally designed to evoke a sense of confinement — reflecting the fear, pressure, and uncertainty that pervaded life under Nazi rule. - Ghetto Wall Fragment - The first stop on the Kraków Ghetto walking tour is the remnants of the Ghetto Walls — a stark reminder of the separation that once isolated its residents from the rest of the city.
- Square of Ghettos Heroes - The tour continues to Ghetto Heroes Square, the ghetto’s center, where deportations to extermination camps occurred. Today, the square features the symbolic Chair Memorial, with each chair representing a life lost.
- Eagle Pharmacy - Museum of Krakow - Across the square is the Under the Eagle Pharmacy, where Tadeusz Pankiewicz and his team bravely supported ghetto residents, safeguarding medicine and hope.
