This was my husband’s and my first visit to Bonaire as part of our cruise with Virgin Voyages, and since we didn’t know much about the island, we decided to book a private tour—and WOW, what a fantastic decision!
From the very beginning, the experience was seamless. I found Private Tours of Bonaire through TripAdvisor, and Kirsten was absolutely wonderful to work with. She’s knowledgeable, down-to-earth, and helped us create a tour plan that gave us a true feel for the island—what to do, what to skip, and how to make the most of our limited time. When our plans shifted closer to the date, she easily adjusted our itinerary to include snorkeling, which ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip! 🐢🐠
We were paired with Saskia (Sas), and I honestly cannot say enough good things about her. She was not only an amazing tour guide but also a patient, encouraging snorkeling instructor who made the whole experience fun and stress-free. She shared fascinating island history and local insights, took incredible photos and videos 📸, and somehow managed to be our guide, photographer, videographer, and new best friend all at once.
The tour itself was perfectly paced—comfortable driving, plenty of stops, and enough flexibility that it never felt rushed or scripted. Sas personalized everything, adjusted the itinerary when we asked, and made the experience feel immersive rather than “touristy.” Her bubbly personality, deep love for the island, and genuine passion for creating memorable experiences truly shine.
And the snorkeling… absolutely magical! 🐢✨ I swam with more turtles than I could count, along with stunning fish and coral. I could have stayed in the water with Saskia for hours—it was that incredible.
This was hands-down one of the best tours I’ve ever taken, and it made our short stay in Bonaire completely unforgettable. If you’re visiting the island, I highly recommend booking a private tour with Sas and Private Tours of Bonaire.

Indepth Private Tour of Bonaire! - Verna picked us up at the cruise ship terminal and took us on a personalized tour of both the North and the South of Bonaire. We let her know we were not interested in touring the liquor factory or shopping and that we prefer photo stops, wildlife, etc. We were thrilled with our stops and the photos we took at 1000 steps, Karpata, Goto Lake where flamingos live in their natural habitat, Rincon that was established in the 16th century, & a quick stop at a cactus liquor distillery where we saw many colorful birds! On the south part of the island we went to the salt mines and were able to pick chunks of natural sea salt to take home. We also stopped to watch the windsurfers & hydrofoils. This was one of the best tours we've ever taken!!

Great first activity on Bonaire - This is the first activity we did on our trip to Bonaire. We wanted to get a sense of the island and maybe some guidance of things to do, and things to avoid. Kirsten (probably not spelling that correctly) picked us up at our hotel and took us on a great tour of all the sections of the island. She’s very knowledgeable and down to earth and had a great sense of humor. There have plenty of stops along the way for pictures and more detail detailed discussion as well as general advice some places to eat things to do and where to find good snorkelling opportunities. It’s definitely worth it to book a tour with her.

Top tip for an island visit! - This was definitely one of the best tours I've ever done! A nice ride with enough stops to see all sides of the island and that led by a friendly guide who knows what she is talking about, both the facts and the more local knowledge. We had a top trip without feeling like we were on our way with a guide. Booking and consultation was clear and easy and the tour itself was top notch.

A Must-Do Experience in Bonaire - Our family booked the VIP Private Highlight Tour – North & South with Private Guided Tours Bonaire, and it exceeded all expectations. Because of our group size we required two vehicles, and everything was perfectly coordinated.
Our guides, Kirsten (the owner) and Josie, were outstanding—knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely fun to spend the day with. We explored incredible locations throughout Bonaire, learned about the island’s history and culture, and received excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities before our trip ended.
There were lots of laughs, beautiful scenery, and plenty of photo opportunities. What really stood out was how personal the experience felt—by the end of the tour, Kirsten and Josie felt like members of our family.
We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bonaire. The island is beautiful, and the people truly make it special.

Fantastic Tour of Bonaire! - We went on a private 4 hour tour with Kirsten and really enjoyed it. She was friendly, fun, easy going and very knowledgeable regarding the history and facts of the island. She showed us wonderful slights and we never felt rushed. She was great!

Amazing Tour! - Sass was amazing! The instructions on where to meet were clear and concise. Sass was very sweet and the kids loved her. She was so knowledgeable about the whole island. She changed the order of things and took us to the best little beach bar where we had the greatest lunch. I would recommend this tour to anyone!

Marco was a great tour guide for our private tour of Bonaire! - Marco was our tour guide for our private shore excursion in Bonaire. He was a wonderful guide who took us to see many wonderful places on the island. His knowledge of Bonaire and its history really added to our tour. Learning about the salt harvesting was so interesting and we loved seeing so many flamingos all around the island!

Fun afternoon! - Véry nice and fun afternoon spent with our guide Kirsten, doing the north and south tour of Bonaire with us today.
Kirsten knows all about the island and it’s history!
We learned a lot today about donkeys, lizards, flamengo’s and good snorkelling and windsurfing spots! And more!
In short; highly recommendable if you want to get to know Bonaire a little bit !!

Phenomenal Private Tour Bonaire - Phenomenal Private Tour Experience!
We had an unforgettable experience with Private Tours of Bonaire, thanks to our amazing guide, Sas! From start to finish, Sas made sure our tour was personalized, fun, and truly immersive. Her bubbly personality and deep knowledge of the island made exploring Bonaire an absolute joy.
One of the highlights of our trip was stopping for lunch at Pasada Para Mira, where we tried goat stew for the first time—and loved it! In just four hours, we managed to see all of Bonaire’s must-see spots, including the breathtaking flamingos, all while enjoying a relaxed and flexible itinerary.
