• Karpata (9) - From the 17th century until 1863, Bonaire, like many Caribbean islands, depended on slave labor for plantation and salt pan work.
• Goto Lake - Goto (pronounced Go-To) Meer is a beautiful protected reserve where flamingos and native birds are often seen in their natural habitat. In the background, the island’s tallest hill, Brandaris, is visible.
• Rincon - Established in the 16th century, Rincon was the first official town. Here, some of the island’s oldest buildings and typical local architecture can be seen, along with insights into why this location was chosen as the first settlement by the Spanish.
