Wonderful Donkey Sanctuary - We had a great time at the donkey sanctuary. Angie did a wonderful job explaining the working of the sanctuary and we bought some food and enjoyed feeding the donkeys by hand. They milled about our car as we entered and cantered beside us as we headed for the lookout. They were so soulful as they stared at us in their paddock. We visited the hospital where they had newborns and donkeys who were recovering from illness. Overall a very special place which needs visitors to help fund their efforts.

Arturo was amazingly accommodating and knowledgeable. We learned a lot in those few hours and had a great time - There is a lot more to Bonaire than you might expect. Having Arturo as a guide who wanted us to get the most out of our time was great. Was able to mix things up

Glad we went - There were many donkeys which came up to the van. When out of the van we were able to be amount the donkeys, watched as the were fed and generally have a very good experience.

RECOMMENDED, A VERY GOOD CAUSE! - Last week I received a great enthusiastic explanation from the owner/initiator. She cares for all more than 800 donkeys, together with volunteers. Super good to have this shelter. In the shop we bought a nice amount of souvenirs: the proceeds go entirely to the donkeys. Very nice!

Great Day With The Donkeys - What a fun tour. Our guide Resine was the best. The sanctuary was great and Resine was full of Bonaire knowledge. It’s great to see these amazing animals so well cared for. We would highly recommend this tour and guide. Bring lots of carrots, the donkeys will love you for it.

Donkey Sanctuary - The Donkey Sanctuary is such a great place. Glad there are good people to volunteer there and help these animals. Recina Kowid was a great guide and very knowledgeable. She even helped us set-up an island tour with another house with just one phone call. Highly recommended.

Sanctuary was interesting but tour was WAY too expensive - Learning the history of donkeys on Bonaire. I enjoyed the newborns and the donkey who kept pace with our van (I learned later he was hoping for food).

Opportunity missed - Unfortunately we never connected with the person who was to meet us holding our name on it as we walked straight ahead after the security gate where our ship was docked. We were there 1/2 ahead and stayed 1/2 past the time. These were the directions we had and am sure they asked for the name of our ship when I signed up. Our cell phones did not work once off the ship. We were disappointed and don’t know how to follow up. We took 2 trips through Viator last year and both were excellent.

We were robbed. - Frustrating and abusive situation. Guide did not call or show up. The Sanctuary refused our tickets and we had to by them again. We were told that they never accept guided tours or tickets purchased elsewhere. Entrance fee is 9$ per person. Viator charged 89$ per person. When issue was brought up to customer service, a refund was refused. No verbatim of my chat conversation was provided. I feel we were the product of an elaborated scam between Viator and Shenekah Tours.
