Pre Rup - Meeting Point: The guide will meet guests in the hotel lobby at 8:30 AM. From there, they will proceed to the ticket booth to purchase a temple pass, or it can be bought online beforehand. With the ticket in hand, the temple journey begins at Pre Rup, a 10th-century Hindu temple made of red sandstone and laterite, known for its warm hues and pyramid-like design. It was used for royal cremations and offers stunning panoramic views from the upper terrace, especially captivating in the early morning or late afternoon light.
Banteay Samre - After visiting the first temple, the next stop is Banteay Samre. This beautifully preserved 12th-century temple, built in the Angkor Wat style, is tucked away from the main temple circuit. It features elegant carvings, a central tower, and an inner courtyard reminiscent of a miniature Angkor Wat. Its serene setting and detailed architecture make it a hidden gem worth exploring.
Banteay Srei - Following the exploration of the first two temples, the journey continues to Banteay Srei, often called the “Jewel of Khmer Art.” This 10th-century temple is famous for its exquisite pink sandstone and incredibly detailed carvings. Although smaller in size, its intricate artwork is among the finest in all of Angkor. The name means “Citadel of Women,” reflecting the temple’s delicate and graceful design.
Free time for lunch at a local restaurant in the park (optional). *Not included
Ta Som - After lunch, the adventure continues with a visit to Ta Som, a tranquil and atmospheric Buddhist temple nestled in the jungle, best known for the massive tree roots that have dramatically overgrown its eastern gate, creating one of the most photogenic spots in Angkor.
Neak Pean - Next, the tour visits Neak Poan, a unique and serene temple set on an artificial island in the middle of a large reservoir. Built in the 12th century, it was originally designed as a healing sanctuary, with four surrounding pools symbolizing the elements. The temple’s name means “Entwined Serpents,” referring to the naga statues that guard its central shrine.
Preah Khan - The next stop is Preah Khan, a vast and atmospheric temple complex built in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII. Once a powerful Buddhist monastery and university, it’s now known for its maze-like corridors, crumbling walls, and the giant trees that have become part of the structure over time. Exploring Preah Khan feels like stepping into a hidden world where nature and history coexist.
Phnom Bakheng - To conclude the day, the tour heads to Phnom Bakheng, a hilltop temple offering one of the most iconic sunset views in Angkor. Built in the late 9th century, this temple was once the state temple of the first city of Angkor. A short climb to the top rewards visitors with panoramic views of the surrounding jungle and, on a clear day, even a distant glimpse of Angkor Wat as the sun sets behind it—a truly magical way to end the temple adventure.
Siem Reap - After enjoying the sunset at Phnom Bakheng, guests will be transferred back to their hotel in Siem Reap, bringing a memorable day of exploration to a comfortable close.
Small Circuit with Sunrise (05:00 - 12:00)
Angkor Wat - Meeting Point: The tour guide will pick up guests in the hotel lobby at 05:00 AM.
The day begins early with a visit to Angkor Wat at sunrise—an unforgettable experience as the first light of day casts a golden glow over the iconic temple’s spires and reflects beautifully in the surrounding pools. This magical moment offers a peaceful and awe-inspiring start to the journey through one of the world’s most magnificent ancient sites.
Take a short break to enjoy a delicious breakfast (it is recommended to bring a breakfast box from the hotel).
After a short break for breakfast, guests step inside the grand temple of Angkor Wat. The guide will reveal the history and hidden stories behind its magnificent bas-reliefs, towering galleries, and sacred sanctuaries. Learn about the temple’s deep connection to Hindu and Buddhist traditions while marveling at its symmetrical perfection.
Ta Prohm - Next, guests will explore the enchanting Ta Prohm, one of Angkor’s most atmospheric temples. Left largely in its natural state, this temple is famous for the giant trees and twisting roots that have grown over and through its stone walls. Known as the “Tomb Raider temple” after appearing in the film, Ta Prohm offers a hauntingly beautiful blend of nature and ancient architecture that makes it a true favorite among visitors.
Angkor Thom - The journey continues to the grand city of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire. Surrounded by massive stone walls and a wide moat, Angkor Thom is home to some of Angkor’s most iconic sites. Guests will enter through the impressive South Gate, guarded by rows of gods and demons, and explore highlights like the Bayon Temple, known for its many serene, smiling stone faces, as well as the Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King. This sprawling complex offers a deep look into the grandeur and symbolism of ancient Khmer civilization.
Terrace of the Elephants - Next, guests will visit two fascinating structures within Angkor Thom: the Terrace of the Leper King and the Elephant Terrace.
The Terrace of the Leper King is named after a mysterious statue found at the site, believed to represent either a Khmer king afflicted with leprosy or the Hindu god Yama, the god of death. The terrace features beautifully carved walls depicting gods, demons, and mythological scenes—some of the most detailed reliefs in Angkor.
Just nearby, the Elephant Terrace served as a grand viewing platform for royal ceremonies and public events. It gets its name from the intricate carvings of elephants along its walls, complete with detailed trunks and garlanded riders. Together, these two terraces offer a glimpse into the grandeur and ceremonial life of the ancient Khmer empire.
Baphuon Temple - The visit continues to Baphuon, an impressive 11th-century temple located within the heart of Angkor Thom. Originally dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and later converted into a Buddhist temple, Baphuon is known for its steep pyramid-like structure and long elevated walkway leading to the central sanctuary. Though much of it has been restored after centuries of collapse, it still offers a sense of grandeur and history—especially with its large reclining Buddha carved into the west side, added during its conversion to Buddhism. Climbing to the top rewards visitors with sweeping views of the surrounding ruins and jungle.
Bayon Temple - Next, guests will arrive at the magnificent Bayon Temple, the centerpiece of Angkor Thom and one of the most iconic temples in Cambodia. Built in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII, Bayon is best known for its towering stone faces—over 200 serene and smiling visages carved into 54 towers, believed to represent the king himself or the bodhisattva of compassion.
As guests wander through its maze-like corridors and intricately carved galleries, they will also discover detailed bas-reliefs depicting scenes of daily life, battles, and historical events. Bayon’s mysterious charm and symbolic complexity make it a true highlight of the temple journey.
Siem Reap - After exploring the awe-inspiring Bayon Temple, the tour comes to a close. Guests will be transferred back to their hotel in Siem Reap, where they can relax and reflect on the unforgettable sights and experiences of the day.
