Stepping back in time. - WHERE do you start a review of such an incredible day? Perhaps from the beginning. It all began with a pick-up from my hotel by Siem Reap Shuttle who really were so professional for all the tours I used them for. Everyone was then taken to a central collecting point where each minibus for each individual tour that day was lined up with a sign in front so everyone could identify which vehicle they had to get on. Then we were off. I'd been to Angkor Wat before nine years ago but it still staggered me with its vast expanse, detail and famous towers. As we walked and clambered about the heat and humidity rose sharply so make sure you carry plenty of water with you although each client is entitled to two bottles of cold water from the minibus. Just the sight of Angkor's great towers was uplifting while inside the great stone structures the details on hundreds of feet of stone carvings was incredible. Finally we had to leave but one last glance back along a tree-lined road revealed a final distant glimpse of Angkor Wat. Then it was on to Ta Phrohm, a temple site made famous by the film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider because of scenes shot among ruins gripped by giant tree roots. In some spots it was so surreal that it felt like being on an alien planet. Incredible. My first piece of advice for this review would be to avoid getting too distracted by the sights and remember to check where you are putting your feet. So many surfaces were broken, very uneven and, in place, downright dangerous. I stumbled several times but avoided injury. Some people didn't, hurt themselves and had their holiday ruined. A much needed lunch followed when we left Ta Phrohm before the tour resumed with visits to the Angkor Thom complex and Bayon temples , ending with an ascent of Bakheng Hill for views of the sunset. Throughout all this our guide was a fount of knowledge and help, a credit to SRS Tours. By now I was exhausted having walked over 18,000 steps in extreme heat and humidity which left me and everyone else drenched in sweat....but it was well worth a bit of suffering to see what we had seen. Don't miss a chance to take this tour. You'll remember it for the rest of your life.

Temple visit and sunset tour, with a focus on Angkor Wat - Despite the price, there were many highlights and the guide's explanation was very easy to understand. The last sunset I saw was very impressive.

A good starting tour for 3-day ticket - I enjoyed the day very much - the guide Jon was eager to answer every and all questions, always ready with a joke. Restaurant for lunch (not included) was nice and reasonably priced. I think this tour is a good way to get to know the system with tickets and to see the most popular temples, so you can use the other days to explore by yourself more confidently. I’m only a little bit sad we went to Angkor Wat in the morning, because the lighting is not as nice as in the afternoon. Still magnificent tho!
