- Bayon Temple - PRASAT BAYON or ANGKOR THOM is a Buddhist-style temple built in the late 12th to early 13th century by Jayavarman VII. Bayon features 54 towers symbolizing the 54 provinces before and during the Khmer empire. Over 200 smiling faces are intricately carved on these towers. Bayon was once a flourishing capital but was unfortunately damaged in 1811 by Cham invaders.
- Chau Say Tevoda - Chau Say Tevoda is a temple located at Angkor, Cambodia. Situated just east of Angkor Thom, directly south of Thommanon across the Victory Way, it was built in the mid-12th century. This Hindu temple from the Angkor Wat period is dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu, featuring unique female sculptures of devatas.
- Ta Prohm Temple - PRASAT TA PROHM, constructed in the late 12th century by Jayavarman VII, was dedicated in 1186 to his mother. Initially, this temple had a Buddhist background but was later converted to Hinduism, with some Buddhist galleries replaced by Hindu symbols like Yoni and Lingam. Located 1.5 km from Bayon through the Victory Gate, Ta Prohm is famous for the trees, known as “Spung,” that grow robustly on and over the sandstone block walls.
- Ta Nei Temple - Ta Nei is a late 12th-century stone temple in Angkor, Cambodia. Built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII, it is near the northwest corner of the East Baray, a large sacred reservoir. It was dedicated to the Buddha.
- Bayon Temple - The South Gate is one of five grand entrances to the ancient city of Angkor Thom, constructed in the late 12th century. It is the best-preserved and most famous gate, known for its impressive causeway lined with statues of gods (devas) and demons (asuras) pulling a naga, as well as a gate tower with four faces similar to those at the Bayon temple. This gate serves as a ceremonial and defensive entrance, and the causeway is a popular spot for photographs and the start of elephant rides into the city.

Celestial alignment: A standout feature is the Equinox sunrise, a celestial event where the sun aligns precisely with the central tower as it rises. This occurs around the spring equinox in late March and the autumn equinox in late September.
Ancient design: The temple’s architects intentionally oriented Angkor Wat to the east to represent life and divine energy, employing exact measurements to achieve this astronomical alignment during significant times of the year.
Reflection and symbolism: The sunrise is especially captivating when observed from the reflecting ponds in front of the temple, which perfectly mirror the structure and the sky. This reflection holds religious importance, symbolizing the harmony between the cosmic ocean and the heavens.
