- Angkor Wat - Angkor Wat stands as the largest religious monument globally, constructed in the early 12th century. As the best-preserved temple on the site, it has continuously served as a significant religious center since its inception. Visitors will enter the grand temple from the less-frequented eastern side, continuing on foot through a jungle path to the North ancient library pool. An expert guide will provide explanations, followed by time to explore the central chambers of the temple. Here, the local guide will share the history, myths, and stories depicted on the stone bas-reliefs, which are the longest in the world. This exploration will deepen the understanding of the temple’s history and the mighty Angkorian civilization.
- Ta Prohm Temple - The jungle-clad Ta Prohm, also known as the Tomb Raider temple, is one of the most atmospheric temples in Angkor. Constructed in the 13th century, Ta Prohm remains largely in the condition it was found, with trees growing out of the ruins and jungle surroundings, making it a favorite among visitors. UNESCO added Ta Prohm to the World Heritage List in 1992. Today, it is one of the most visited sites in Cambodia’s Angkor region. Ta Prohm served as a religious temple at the center of the Ancient Khmer University during the 12th and 13th centuries.
- Banteay Srei - Banteay Srei is primarily constructed of red sandstone, which allows for the intricate decorative wall carvings still visible today. Unlike other major temples at Angkor, it was not built by a monarch but by a king’s counselor in the 10th century. This temple is intricately carved and well-preserved, with the finest, most skillfully crafted reliefs in Cambodia.
- Banteay Srey Butterfly Centre - The BBC is a butterfly zoo near Angkor Wat, established in 2009, and is the largest enclosed butterfly center in Southeast Asia. Designed and funded by British butterfly enthusiasts Ben Hayes and Mike Baltzer, the BBC is part of a Cambodian project linking responsible tourism with environmental conservation. Butterflies, part of the lepidopteran insect group that includes moths, are showcased in a large netted garden environment, focusing on local varieties. Due to their short lifespan and seasonal nature, twice as many species are present during November and December. The BBC also operates as a sustainable butterfly farm, training locals, with some butterflies destined for the center’s gardens and others for sale and export.
- Cambodia Landmine Museum - The Cambodia Landmine Museum and Relief Center educates the public on landmine dangers and supports education for Cambodian youth. It serves as a place of healing for bodies, hearts, and minds, emphasizing love, support, and education as essential for securing a better future for the children living there and its visitors.
- Preah Dak - Preah Dak Village is renowned for its local market of objects and arts, offering visitors the chance to discover beautiful places and natural life. Known as the Khmer Noodle Village and Palm Sugar Producing village, it is a popular tourist destination in Siem Reap.
