Begin the day with a brief stop at Srah Srang, known as the King’s Baths, a large reservoir that still holds water today. From there, it’s just a short stroll to the expansive maze of the Buddhist temple, Banteay Kdei. The next destination is Ta Prohm, which gained 21st-century recognition from the movie Tomb Raider, starring Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft. Although Lara has moved on, this temple remains a must-see for most visitors, and for good reason. Many areas of Ta Prohm display a fascinating interaction between the roots of the Spung tree (Tetrameles Nudiflora) and ancient, moss-covered stones. It’s truly a photographer’s dream, so be sure to capture your own adventurous moments. This is a half-day tour, allowing for either a morning or afternoon session.
