• Royal Residence - Following the meeting, the tour proceeds to the Royal Residence and its spiritual house (“Phreah Ang Chek, Phreah Ang Chom”). Participants will receive an in-depth tour of this revered site, with the guide explaining how locals visit the spiritual house for fortune-telling and grief counseling. The Royal Residence and its spiritual house are among the most significant and sacred sites in Siem Reap, renowned throughout Cambodia.
• Royal Independence Gardens - After exploring the Royal Residence and its spiritual house, the tour continues to the first breakfast stop, crossing the Royal Gardens, which are situated directly in front of the Royal Residence.
• Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor - The tour then passes by the Grand Hotel d’Angkor, one of the first luxury hotels established in 1932, which has since welcomed travelers from around the globe visiting the Angkor temples.
• 32 Street 18 - After visiting the Royal Residence and passing the Royal Gardens and the Grand Hotel d’Angkor, the tour crosses the Siem Reap River to the first breakfast stop to sample one of the most renowned Khmer dishes, Num Banh Chok. Each participant will try one plate, marking the last breakfast stop of the morning tour.
• Wat Bo Road - Following the third breakfast stop, the tour continues through the city, passing more bustling local shops. One intriguing shop is the local handmade basket shop, located near the final stop, where the guide will explain the various uses of handmade basket products in Cambodian daily life.
• Kola Noodle - After walking and enjoying ample food, it’s time to try a Cambodian dessert at a local restaurant. The guide will select a popular dessert typically enjoyed by locals after a meal and provide details about it. This is also an opportunity to ask the guide any additional questions for further clarification.
• Old Market - The tour concludes at a local market known as Old Market, or Psa Chas, where participants can learn about the market’s role and significance in daily life, as well as the origins and cultivation methods of local produce. The atmosphere is vibrant, offering a fantastic opportunity to observe the daily life of Siem Reap residents.
