This small medieval castle is renowned in Albania as it served as the headquarters for the national hero, Skanderbeg. During the 15th century, the formidable Turkish Ottoman Empire was expanding across the Balkans. However, they were unable to breach the defenses of Kruje Castle. The resistance against the Ottomans was led by Albania’s national hero, Skanderbeg, who was highly skilled in military tactics and often compared to Alexander the Great.
- Muzeu Kombëtar Gjergj Kastrioti - The Skanderbeg Museum is among the most visited and significant museums in Albania.
