- Batu Caves - Batu Caves is a limestone hill featuring a series of caves and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor. The limestone, estimated to be around 400 million years old, has cave entrances once used as shelters by the indigenous Temuan people (a tribe of Orang Asli). The cave is a prominent Hindu shrine outside India, dedicated to Lord Murugan, and is central to the Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia. Batu Caves is also known as the 10th Cave or Hill for Lord Murugan, with six important holy shrines in India and four in Malaysia, including Kallumalai Temple in Ipoh, Tanneermalai Temple in Penang, and Sannasimalai Temple in Malacca.
